The long awaited inaugural Overwatch League season has finally arrived. Opening week starts January 10, with three matches played daily four days a week. All matches will be on Twitch, MLG, and the Overwatch League website. Hours of weekly Overwatch action are on the horizon, and has the Owl's Eye to guide you through the lengthy season.

All matches will be played in the 450 seat Blizzard Arena in Burbank, the same arena that hosted the finals of Contenders Season One and the Overwatch League's preseason matches. Each match will consist of four predetermined maps, with a fifth tiebreaker map to be played in the case of a tied score. Every moment of action will be casted in English, Korean, French, and Chinese. The English talent lineup has already been announced.

Matches of the Week

San Francisco Shock @ Los Angeles Valiant

While the Overwatch League debuted itself to the world in the December preseason, this will be the first official match. No doubts will remain about the effort teams put into these games. Full rosters, minus players who have yet to turn 18 and sado, will be available to each team, but no one will be required to use every player. The matches will not only be promoted in-game, but a stream of the broadcast will be embedded into the game for any player to peak at out of curiosity. People will get to watch every second of every moment on Twitch, assuming they are not part of the sellout audience attending the opening week live. With this match, the Overwatch League will begin, for real this time.

Dallas Fuel @ Seoul Dynasty

The first night of Overwatch League action will finish off with a matchup between early favorites to take the inaugural League title. The core of Seoul Dynasty is made up of the two-time APEX champions Lunatic-Hai, a team previously regarded as the best in the world. Their opponents are the Dallas Fuel, built off of the core of Team EnVyUs, a team that took home an APEX title of their own and was previously argued to be the best in the West. Each team, outfitted with new additions that have reputations to match their cores, will be looking to claim hegemony over the rest of the competition as the season kicks off.

Philadelphia Fusion @ Houston Outlaws

Every team showed off every player present and meeting the age requirement in the preseason -- every team but the Philadelphia Fusion. The team was absent from the December showmatches because the Fusion were still working on getting the majority of their roster into the United States at the time. While it's unknown whether or not the team's limited time in Los Angeles will affect their performance, this will be the first time audiences will get to see the predominantly European roster nonetheless. Finally, the DPS duo of Carpe and ShaDowBurn will take the stage once again.
