The first week of the Overwatch League was a success in its own right, as an impressive amount of viewers took in the culmination of months of preparation. Marquee match ups didn't fail to impress, with the Dallas Fuel and the Seoul Dynasty producing yet another all-time classic akin to their days as Team Envy and Lunatic-Hai. However, less anticipated matches turned out to be interesting in their own right. If you failed to catch all of last week's games, the first edition of the over.gg Overwatch League Rankings are a useful tool for understanding where each team currently stands.

Otherwise, let us be your eyes for Week 2. Detailed below are key match-ups that you shouldn't miss out on, as well as a schedule and each team's eligible players. As always, you can tune into matches live at Twitch, MLG, and the Overwatch League website and keep track of the scores at the event page.

Matches of the Week

The Los Angeles Valiant turned a lot of heads last week when they took down the Dallas Fuel 3-0, as ex-Rogue players SoOn and uNKOE starred. With this upset under their belt, as well as a 4-0 sweep over the Shock, the Valiant are now being considered alongside the three completely Korean rosters as the best in the League.

The New York Excelsior had a similarly strong week, despite the occasional hiccups that resulted in two dropped maps. With this in mind, this match will determine whether the Valiant should be considered as a top three team in the League. Sparks will fly as these two teams look to further prove themselves.

Shanghai Dragons @ Florida Mayhem

Don't lose me just yet, the Dragon's fixture against the Mayhem is set to be a measuring stick for the bottom order and as such will be an interesting viewing experience in its own right. Both teams failed to defy expectations in their first week of play, losing both their games in relatively convincing fashion. Assuming they both fail to win their first games of Week 2, whoever wins this match will escape being considered the worst in the League, whilst the loser will not be so lucky.

Although it appears likely that the pair will continue to occupy the bottom of the standings for quite some time, their rosters are not without talented players. A victory may also serve as a much needed confidence boost to gain momentum in their pursuit to climb the standings.

London Spitfire @ Dallas Fuel

The Fuel's Week 1 performance was undeniably disappointing. The Texan titans fell apart in their second match of the week against the Valiant after falling to the Dynasty 3-2. Major chemistry issues with the new additions to the Team Envy core were apparent as what was considered to be one of the League's best rosters failed to secure a victory

On the other hand, the Spitfire appear to be figuring out their multifaceted roster rapidly. Although it remains to be seen how the rest of the roster will be incorporated, their lineup of Profit, Birdring, Fury, Gesture, NUS and Bdosin looks to be one of the most dangerous in the League.

Keep on eye on how these teams experiment with their lineups as they continue to search for the perfect combination to secure themselves a place at the top.
