With the Overwatch Contenders tournament quickly approaching and a sudden abundance of free agents within the Overwatch scene, Gale Force Esports announced that the entirety of its previous team would join the ever-expanding pool in free agency as the organization reevaluated its position within the Overwatch scene.

Despite qualifying for the Overwatch Rumble, Gale Force Esports decided to completely release the roster. According to their press release, the organization plans to re-enter Overwatch in the future with a team built of players from the new free agent talent pool. While Gale Force Esports did have solid performances in tier two events, they were unable to compete on even footing with the top tier North American rosters.

The team of Bani, Boink, clockwork, eMIL, Muma, and Shrugger, alongside coach Wizard, now seeks new opportunities from those interested in sponsoring Overwatch players. While it remains uncertain whether the team will continue together after the Overwatch Rumble concludes, all players will certainly explore their options and attempt to gain entrance to the Overwatch Contenders tournament, which is Blizzard's first venture into official tournaments post-Blizzcon.

For now, Gale Force Esports remains without a team, while the members of the released squad no longer have a sponsor, as the trend within professional Overwatch has dictated in recent times.
