RUI returns to the team and professional Overwatch after he parted ways with them last November due to health issues. He coached the team during the 2019 season and was a coach for Team China in that year’s World Cup before he stepped down from his coaching career.
Prior to coaching the Hunters, RUI was a coach of Miraculous Youngster, China's most dominant team before the Overwatch League. He later joined the Shanghai Dragons and was promoted to head coach during a midseason coach change, but stepped down midway through the season because of health issues at that time, as well. He joined the Hunters half a year later and hadn't been on another team since last stepping away for health issues.
The Hunters were eliminated in the play-ins of the Asian playoffs this month. The franchise also ended their partnership with Royal Never Give Up, who operated the team since their inception.
