Dokkaebi officially joined the Hunters coaching staff in January, joining Ray, one of the team's coaches from their inaugural season.
Chen joins the team after previously coaching a number of Chinese teams, commentating in both the Chinese Overwatch League broadcast and Contenders China, and owning team Laboratory. He has worked with Chinese Overwatch teams since 2016.
The change comes amidst a disappointing season for the Chengdu Hunters. The team struggled to find success in the Overwatch League's tight seven-team APAC division and the Hunters started the season just 4-14. However, in recent weeks the team has found some momentum and have won their last three matches to find themselves with a 7-14 overall record.
The Hunters' winning streak has occurred over the last two weeks, in which the league has played with a hero pool. The next two weeks will be without hero pools and it will be up to Chen and the team's other coaches to keep their momentum going.
He has time to adjust to his new team. The Hunters do not play this upcoming week and will next appear in the Countdown Cup.
