The eight teams set to compete in APEX Challengers Season 5 have been finalized following the conclusion of the Korean Open Division and the offline qualifier. Commencing on 28th August, Challengers Season 5 will feature eight up and coming Korean squads as they battle for one of the four available spots in 'Super Week', APEX's promotion and relegation event.

Seven earned their place in the tournament by claiming victory in the inaugural Korean Open Divison, while the remaining teams were sourced from an offline qualifier held on the 19th of this month. Notable participants include Lunatic-Hai's sister team and a revamped DeToNator.Korea.

Two group stages make up the tournament, both played out in a single round robin. The first group stage runs from 28th August to 27th September, with six teams advancing to the second group stage. The top four teams from the second group stage, running from 8th-19th October, will qualify for Super Week. All matches will be played in a best-of-five maps format, with teams receiving ₩100,000 KRW ($87~ USD) for a win and ₩50,000 KRW ($43~ USD) for a loss each match.
