Newly-formed esports organisation MEGA Esports have made a thunderous entrance into the South-East Asian Overwatch scene by picking up FireBall.

Fireball placed sixth in the regular season of the inaugural Overwatch Pacific Championship. Whilst failing to qualify for playoffs, this finish placed the team outside of the bottom two seeds, thus avoiding the promotion and relegation event for Season 2.

With four players on the team set to represent Thailand in the Overwatch World Cup 2017, the roster is stacked with some of countries' finest talents.

Team Manager of MEGA Esports, Alex Simmons, had this to say about the acquisition:

We are incredibly excited to be represented by the very talented MEGA Thunder roster. I'm very impressed and confident in the individual talent all our players have displayed in the OPC, as well as the competitive progress they have shown as a team throughout.

The roster will be competing under the name MEGA Thunder (MT) in Season 2 of the Pacific Championship, scheduled to begin on the 19th of August.

The MEGA Thunder roster is:

  • Ubon "oPuTo" Dara (DPS)
  • Sasalak "NzNr" Wannara (DPS)
  • Chollatij "Nearlygod9th" Nongnuc (Flex)
  • Teetawat "Teetawatv3" Teerayosyotin (Tank)
  • Vatunyoo "KeRLos" Suwannapisi (Support)
  • Vuthichai "Rocket" Posawad (Support)
