The move is the latest in a number of changes to their roster. Last week, Optidox joined as head coach.

Smex joins Montreal after his previous team, NRG Esports, disbanded last month, while UltraViolet was on Square One before he left last month. Both players played in Contenders 2019 Season 1: North America West, placing in the top four and top six respectively on their former teams.

The Rebellion are likely to make at least one more addition before the next season starts. The team still needs a main tank player.
