I'm stupid because I find CSGO boring, repetitive and stale in 2018? Like many other veteran CS players? Who wants to watch a "superteam" like FaZe win anything? Who wants to watch a bunch of washed up, burned out CS pros play a game simply to collect a paycheck? Talking about NiP, VP, Astralis, Fnatic, G2, EnvyUs, NaVi just to name a few. The game is stale. When a game is out for nearly 5+ years, it becomes stale just like 1.6 did. And if you think Gambit, ex-Immortals and BIG are truly great CS teams in a highly competitive CS scene, just no. People are just burned out on that game and it's hard to push yourself to the limits when playing the game becomes a nothing but a job.

I'm sorry you don't agree with me about the state of CSGO competitive play and Semmlar, but honestly you're hyper opinionated posturing and excessive typos aren't really appreciated.

If you honestly think people only liked Anders, I don't know what to tell you. Very distinct differences of opinion. Semmlar, despite what people write about him on HLTV, reddit and Twitch chat, actually has a lot of fans and supporters.

And also, if you think 2018 CSGO is even mildly as interesting as CSGO back in 2015/2016 I don't know what to tell you. CSGO is so stale these days it's actually amazing that it still has all the support it does.

How exactly am I being "willfully ignorant"? The only thing people know about the situation between Anders and Semmlar is that they both grew tired of splitting the casting role 50/50 mid-match and wanted to have more defined roles. Neither of them were happy and that's why Anders is paired with Moses now because Moses is an ex-pro who is more color commentary/analysis while Anders does play-by-play. Semmlar tried to freelance and people questioned his sexual orientation and eventually he fell out of favor with all the competition from other top casting duos that exist in CSGO today.

It actually was a situation of x OR y, x being Semmlar and Y being Anders and the community chose Anders.

I have no problem with Semmlar like many other CSGO turned OW players have. I've supported Semmlar, Anders, Vendetta and the RoomOnFire guys since it was created years ago. They are a great group of guys who cared vehemently about Counter-Strike. The falling-out-of-love affair with Semmy and the CSGO community is a strange one considering Semmy/Anders was the casting duo during CSGO's prime. I think he simply got a bit too comfortable and the fans got turned off by it.

Either way my biggest issue with Semmy isn't him being in OWL, I welcome him or any other legitimate talent from other games (Monte/DoA for example) to represent OW because it promotes the game's growth. My biggest issue with Semmy and some of the other OWL talent, is why are they there over ZP? It was honestly a really bad judgement call on Blizzard's part excluding ZP, the voice of Overwatch.

Striker and Dream might be the most underrated DPS duo in all of OWL while Babybay/Danteh are probably the most overrated (in my opinion). Both teams have their weaknesses but I think SFS will win 3-2 due to experience and superior comms.

Why hasn't iddqd played any maps yet anyway?

Really hoping LAV sticks w/ silkthread/SoOn as their DPS combo for the remainder of the season and let them continue to synergize together. They're dangerous.

But not as dangerous as profit/birdring/rascal ... Spitfire 3-1

posted about 6 years ago

More fuel for the Spitfire to burn. This shouldn't be close, even if DF does show up and play better than they have in weeks past. It's a long season though and I haven't given up on the ex-Envy boys quite yet.

It's crazy how poorly the ex-Misfits are playing. And we can't even blame Logix underperforming on LAN anymore because he's honestly been one of their better players. They just don't seem to have any playmaking ability nor any stable comp/strat they can fall back on.
Still think they will win 3-1/4-0 though, SHD are just atrocious.

I just don't understand what's going on with Dallas:

  • what's the point of having Taimou if Effect is going to play hitscan over him, Mickie is going to play Roadhog over him and Seagull is the designated projectile specialist?

  • what was the point of picking up Custa, a Zenyatta specialist if they are going to put him on Mercy (which he was clearly not performing well on) and put chips on Zen?

  • what was the point of picking up Seagull if Taimou, the hitscan specialist subs in and plays Junkrat?

I'm just so confused by so many decisions that DF is making, let alone how they are playing.

Dude ... this is a massacre. Was not expecting this kind of flat, uninspired approach by DF. It's like they've completely lost their identity altogether.

Hard to predict this one. Loving how well the NYXL are playing right now and the thought that they aren't full strength yet is scary. But the LAV don't have any noticeable holes in their lineup either, especially with how well silkthread has been playing.

3-2 NYXL.

Wow that Nomy profile video ... right in the feels man ...

Best of luck to SFS and especially Nomy moving forward.

Dallas is too talented and experienced to go 0-3 ..... right? I'm not sure what has exactly happened to Taimou but DF overall seems to lack firepower where they didn't before. Either way looking forward to Link vs. EFFECT duels.
3-1 DF.

Florida just looks terrible. What a disappointment.

posted about 6 years ago

Yeah it is, just like every other game on SHD's roster. Team just blows.

The return of SoOn will make this match interesting. Also I hope they put Agilities on the pine again and let silkthread play alongside SoOn because they looked like they much more dangerous DPS duo.

Also, where has Grim been? Is there a reason we haven't seen him play yet?

Pine's McCree holy ...

Rooting for SHD because they just seem kinda lost out there, they could use this win against a lower tier team to boost their confidence.

LETS GO SOON!

I don't know what their problem with ZP is exactly but it feels borderline criminal to hire CSGO reject Semmlar over him. He is the voice I identify with Overwatch, similar to how I feel about Anders in CSGO and Monte/Doa (in LoL).

As for the rest of the cast it all makes sense but it definitely feels like it's missing that homegrown element that ZP brought to the game and the community. Hopefully they reconsider in the future.

With how insane Logix was online it's hard not to have nothing but the highest expectations of him on LAN.

Looks great, GJ~

I'm still waiting for Logix to be impactful on LAN.

In S4's Bastion I believe.

DF is going to make an example of Seoul in this match. Would be cool if they put some kind of Hulk tribute on the Fuel's team jerseys/skins.

posted about 6 years ago

More than anything else I just love watching SoOn play. People slept on him and uNK0E when Rogue started to slip but now that they have solidified their spot in OWL I expect to see vintage play from them both.

The Dragons are going to be shitting blood just like they are in the logo after this match

Rip best team concept/logo

I say that more in a way if he had an opportunity to celebrate another player's life in such a way, he would. He was one of the good people in OW, someone who a lot of people looked up to.

posted about 6 years ago

Hope everyone who participates has a good time! We all know HULK would be there rocking his slick silver hair fragging out on the monkey if he could.

posted about 6 years ago

At first I was impressed that HULK was able to compete with the young guns of Overwatch in the early days competitive. Later I was increasingly impressed that he was able to play and IGL the world's undisputed best team for such a long stretch of time. Now I can only mourn the loss of such an inspiring player and leader.

Rest in peace.

posted about 6 years ago

Jesus how horrible and unexpected. So sad for him and all his friends and family that I'm sure are crushed to hear this news.

Rest in peace Hulk, you were a force to be reckoned with and we won't soon forget.

I agree, the NYXL logo was a lot better, not sure why they went with that generic, obscure pattern instead ...

I swear to god zunba got at least a 2k on every Self-Destruct and secured some massively clutch kills for them.

Great showing by Canada though, never would have guessed they'd beat Sweden and put on such a good show!

AKM's Pharah has been extremely impressive. Good for him putting in the time and deepening his hero pool.

Who are you talking about specifically?

posted about 6 years ago

They making an American hand-egg team? Why so many players?

posted about 6 years ago

More than anything else, I'm hyped to see nanohana on LAN after so long. Nano/Saebye is going to be an insane DPS combo with ryu and tobi supporting them. Haven't been this excited to watch OW in awhile.

posted about 6 years ago

Really like the name a lot and that logo is the cleanest one yet. Love it.

I think a lot of people have kind of forgotten about Nevix since Logix has been doing so well on Misfits in his stead (except on LAN lul).

The dude is a beast and unlike the existing DPS on SF, he's flexible. I'm guessing whenever SF will need to counter/comfort pick against an opponent with a niche, Nevix will be filling in the gaps that the other DPS can not (Pharah, Genji, etc).

Best of luck to Nevix though, very deserved and I'm happy for him.

Giganti Tseini rolls off the tongue so nicely

Best of luck to EnVision moving forward, Jaru/McGravy are MVPs in my heart.

posted about 6 years ago

I think Fleta is a beast and Munchkin is an upgrade over EscA/Gido/LTJ, but I need to see more of them before I can really say for sure they can compete with the world's best DPS duos.

posted about 6 years ago

Awesome pickup, love xQc. DF and the c9/London squad are looking like major frontrunners for season 1.

Why hasn't Recry been playing? I like attune but Recry is a monster
