Two teams which have made meteoric rises over the last month are European team WEUNITED and North American side ohno. As two of the highest ranked teams without organisations in their respective regions, it seems fitting that these teams have now combined and signed under Immortals. The result of this roster 'combination', which some people may see in another light as poaching, sees LegitRC and Slasher removed from the roster to be replaced by former ohno players FCTFCTN and Rawkus.

WEUNITED was the brainchild of former REUNITED player 2easy, after he was removed from his former team at the end of June. The roster change rocked 2easy a little, but once he secured a competent group of players around himself again the team began to flourish. The team was ranked 7th in North America having made its way up the GosuGamers rankings off the back of deep tournament finishes.

WEUNITED narrowly missed out on qualifying for the ESL Atlantic Showdown after being knocked down from the upper bracket in a 3-2 loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas and then out by ANOX. They have also failed to qualify so far for the Overwatch Open having been knocked out of the last two qualifiers by 2sTroNk and ANOX. Interestingly, the team has always participated in European qualifiers despite being a 50/50 split team. Since being picked up by Immortals, the team now identifies as a North American side; some have speculated that this may be due to plans for a team house in the near future, but Immortals have not officially made any sort of announcement.

Immortals sign WEUNITED

The new roster for Immortals sees both support players, LegitRC and Slasher, removed from the roster to make way for the duo from ohno. Rather than pick up both supports for a direct swap however, Forsak3n has moved from tank to Zenyatta support to allow FCTFCTN to fill his slot; Rawkus has also moved in to pick up the other support slot. It is unknown why the team made this swap, as every member of Immortals appears sworn to silence until the official announcement.

The side are currently competing in the fourth qualifier, having beaten Le Mixx and ANOX to make it to the Semi Finals. Even if they do not qualify directly by winning the qualifier, Immortals have gained enough points to make it to the next phase. If the victory tonight over ANOX is anything to measure the new roster by however, they may have a good chance at taking it outright.

We have reached out to members of Immortals for a statement and will update this article should they respond.
