GamersOrigin has announced they are dropping out of Overwatch due to uncertainty of the scene outside of the Overwatch League. The roster has decided to disband after various players received offers from other teams.

GamersOrigin first entered Overwatch in the summer of last year with an all-French roster, something they would continue throughout their existence despite numerous roster changes. Their teams regularly took part in European tournaments and French LANs, and most notably took home the trophy from DreamHack Tours 2017. Unable to pay for an Overwatch League spot now or in the foreseeable future, the organization chose to drop out of the game.

Despite impressing as a team in Contenders Season One, the only player from the now defunct roster to make it into the Overwatch League was Poko, who will now be playing flex for the Philadelphia Fusion. His former teammates will instead be looking to showcase their skills in Contenders Season Two.

According to a Twitlonger from Leaf, he already has offers to participate in the upcoming season of Contenders. It is unknown if any other former GamersOrigin players also have new teams lined up.

The last GamersOrigin roster was:

  • Jeremy "Hqrdest" Danton (DPS)
  • Lucas "Leaf" Loison (DPS)
  • Gael "Poko" Gouzerch (Flex)
  • Benjamin "BenBest" Dieulafait (Tank)
  • Damien "HyP" Souville (Support)
  • Richard "PiPou" Buscemi (Support)
