The Los Angeles Valiant Los Angeles Valiant OWL Rank #11 and the San Francisco Shock San Francisco Shock OWL Rank #2 have scheduled a pair of exhibition matches in their respective regions in a battle called the California Cup. The first match will occur October 20 in Santa Ana while the second will occur November 10 in Oakland.

The two matches will be played at two Esports Arena locations, each in the previously mentioned cities. Beyond just matches between the two teams, the California Cup will also feature a collegiate competition between four California schools, player signing sessions, VIP perks and exclusive merchandise.
General admission tickets are available for either event for $25 USD. There are also VIP tickets available for $50 USD and a package that includes tickets to both events with VIP perks for each for $75 USD.
The California Cup will include the first match between Overwatch League teams where a team from outside of Los Angeles plays in front of its home market. Oakland is part of San Francisco's metropolitan area.
Despite player releases that have occurred during the Overwatch League offseason, both teams currently have rosters capable of fielding players at every position. The Shock currently have nine players while the Valiant have 10.
