This comes after a couple of weeks defined by tournament withdrawals and announcements of departures.

The organization first entered Overwatch back in February, when it bought the Contenders spot owned by FNRGFE. The team struggled to find success in Contenders, however, going 1-4 in their group to finish fifth. Their placement meant they were to be relegated to Contenders Trials, where they would have to play their way back into Contenders Season 2.

However, the past few weeks it has seemed unlikely the team was preparing to make a run at entering Season 2. DPS was the first departure to be announced while the BEAT Invitational was the first tournament Simplicity dropped out of.

Simplicity sold one player to an Overwatch League team, KSF to the Los Angeles Valiant. KSF left the team with one match left in the season, leading to the team bringing in SeoMinSoo to replace him for their last match.

Since then, various players and staff members alike have announced their departures from the squad. After dropping out of the Pit Championship and selling their Contenders Trials spot, Simplicity's short stay in Overwatch is now over.
