Additionally, the team has signed ViViD (previously known as Isolet) as their new head coach.

Renanthera joined the Boston Uprising's academy team after finishing in the top four back-to-back seasons of the Tespa Collegiate Series. During the first of those seasons, in which his team ended as runner-ups, he played alongside future Boston Uprising analyst MrBleeple.

ViViD joins Toronto after previously serving as a member of the O2 Ardeont coaching staff. He joined O2 as head coach in late December when the team was called O2 Blast, but moved over to an assistant coaching and managerial role when Contenders rolled around. ViViD left the team sometime during the group stage of Contenders Season 1.

ViViD brings to the them an ability to speak both Korean and English. Toronto Esports is made up of three Koreans, two Americans, and a British player.

Toronto Esports began the Contenders season with a loss to XL2 Academy, but rebounded by winning the rest of their matches of the group stage and finishing 4-1. They carried that momentum into the playoffs, making it to the grand finals before losing to favorites Fusion University.

ViViD will have some time to acquaint himself with his new roster. The next season of Contenders won't occur until sometime after the end of Contenders Trials. Exact dates for either tournament has yet to be announced.
