According to sources inside Cloud9, Selly has been removed from C9 and will be flying home to Korea. It has been just over a month since the organisation announced the addition of Koreans Selly and Xepher to the roster, though they were living with the team in North America for a few weeks beforehand. A replacement has not yet been reported.

One source told over.gg that Selly had been removed for “personality conflicts”, though went into no further detail. Coach Bishop had a different take, saying, “Selly is an extremely talented player, but his aggressive playstyle didn’t mesh with the team at various moments, causing his playstyle to be somewhat inconsistent.” Selly confirmed he was removed from Cloud9 but did not go into reasons or replacements, saying he was "just looking for [a] team now".

The recent results for Cloud9 with their new roster, which involved Gods moving to tank as ryb and Mendokusaii left the team, have placed them in the middle of the top teams in North America. In the Rivalcade Rumble they lost to Immortals in groups but beat Selfless in the first round of the playoffs, falling straight afterwards to Rogue and LG Evil. LG Evil again had their number in the CyberPowerPC Spring Invitational, beating them 3-2 in an extremely close match.

During these tournaments, Surefour, Xepher, and Selly were frequently swapping between offtanks and DPS heroes to facilitate compositions from triple tank to triple DPS. Selly was taking the brunt of the Soldier: 76 work, also showing up on Genji and Roadhog among other heroes.

There is no indication so far that Selly attempted any sort of coup.

The Cloud9 roster is now:

  • Lane "Surefour" Roberts (DPS)
  • Jaemo “Xepher” Koo (Flex)
  • Daniel "GODS" Graesser (Tank)
  • Randal "Roolf" Stark (Support)
  • Adam "Adam" Eckel (Support)
  • Beoumjun “Bishop” Lee (Coach)
