Rockets Esports recently took to Twitter to announce that the organization had re-entered Overwatch with the acquisition of Prestige Worldwide. While the names involved in this story are likely unknown to many, that may soon change as the roster continues to improve and rack up the wins.

Prestige Worldwide originally began as teamOFsnow, a project by former Renegades player manOFsnow, but over time it evolved into an entirely new beast. Save for flex player yeHHH and DPS redstart, the squad would go through six roster changes and a rename before finding their greatest success as Prestige Worldwide. Back in June, they would finish second in the Athena Cup to Evil Geniuses despite initially defeating them in the upper bracket final. In July, they went out in the semifinals in the second edition of The Overguard: Haste tourneys to eventual tournament champions Hard Retweet, a team composed of notable free agents such as Spirit, nomy, and Ajax.

Since then, Prestige Worldwide hasn't lost in any tournament they have participated in. Most notably, this includes Overwatch Open Division Season One North America, where they would win 4-0 in the grand finals. They have won the last three Academy Weeklies, and will be hoping to defend their title in Open Division Season Two under their new name, Rockets Esports.

This isn't Rockets Esports' first foray into Overwatch. The previous team, which featured players like Cloneman and ultimawep, struggled to find consistent success against rivals that were also trying to break into the upper echelons of North American Overwatch. The team struggled against the likes of a much weaker EnVision eSports squad, a pre-TwoEasy Tempo Storm team, and You Guys Get Paid?. The organization will be hoping this team has much more success breaking through into the top levels of the NA scene.

Rockets Esports will be blasting into competition with:

  • Sam "redstart" Pearson (DPS)
  • Ethan "Stratus" Yankel (DPS)
  • Albert "yeHHH" Yeh (Flex)
  • Julian "ProGi" Maier (Tank)
  • David "Zergling" Chen (Support)
  • Joshua "Tehpwnzorr" Nguyen (Support)
  • Jonathan "Jon" Tran (Coach)
  • Shaurav "Shu" Ghosh (Manager)
