I think that's another detriment to the smaller regions, I agree. As they grow the Contenders system they should also put systems in place to prevent teams from abusing outside players to win their region. If Contenders is really the system designed to develop local talent, then China, Pacific, Australia, and South America need it most and rosters like that of Lucky Future Zenith and Detonator Korea become a detriment to the system.

I was talking about going Saturday only. If you are able to attend both days, your number would be correct.

posted about 5 years ago

You misinterpreted it.It is a best-of-three best-of-five. Meaning that they will play series that are best of five maps, but you have to win two series in order to take the title. So if you go on Saturday you're guaranteed to watch at least three maps, maybe as many as ten.

Healing received would be a great thing to add to this list! Overall, I think many of the suggestions in this survey would be a great addition to Overwatch statistics and I hope we can see many, if not all, of these suggestions added to the game in some capacity or another!

South America has a dedicated and active scene, despite little money to play for. There appears to be an active fanbase for South American Overwatch based on viewership numbers for SA Contenders rivaling NA and EU Contenders. People believe the region has earned its right to compete at Overwatch's highest level.

Now are there any potential investors or good enough infrastructure to support a team within the region? I don't know, you'd have to ask a South American about that. What I do know is that the interest is there.

No new players can be signed after the trade window. Like what was said in the comment before, some teams wait to announce their players until after they've gone through all the hoops they need to in order to play them.

The new players will be immediately available to play as long as they are on-site in Los Angeles.

I really appreciate the efforts the Fuel have made to make sure we always have fresh OWL content to publish. These bi-weekly changes are great!

The Snow on Boston (https://www.over.gg/player/1819/snow) has never been a featured DPS, he has always been a support. You may be thinking of former 1SHOT DPS Snow (https://www.over.gg/player/630/snow), who has been a part of the Brazilian scene since his departure from that team.

To be fair, OWL's involvement with the punishment was minimal. They fined him 1k and the Fusion decided on the rest of the punishment.

That wasn't something I asked because I felt it's a question more suited to the people in charge of the Overwatch League and the Path to Pro system they've established. However this is something I have also wanted to know and will ask the first time I can get a chance to interview someone I think will be able to answer it.

Well none of the Danish players were in organizations before, so it's not like they're losing anything. The team is also attempting to change its name and logo, separating itself from that history.

Now why would they join a team worse off in the standings? I can't figure that one out.

This news article was actually a clever ploy to get the Italians to come out of lurking

The reason why so many Korean players began moving to the west to play even before OWL is because pay has always been really low in Korea. That's the only reason why someone would leave a region with constant LAN tournaments for a region with none.

I think Bangkok and Beijing would also be good places for franchises in Asia. For the world outside of North America, Europe, and Asia, I think some outside contenders for franchises could be Johannesburg and Buenos Aires. I think Beijing is far more likely to happen than Kiev. As for the other three, you could probably debate two of them get spots in place of Seattle and Copenhagen/Stockholm (one or the other), I don't really know which of those debated cities would make for the best franchise locations.
