I wish the best for KyKy. Hopefully a new environment suits him and against popular opinion, I think he’s a good coach.

Hoping for improvement, disappointed continuously. It's really rough supporting the Fuel.

If you want the TL:DW of this, basically xQc said that for the most part, the players were in the dark about a lot of major decisions that were made, especially with Rascal and OGE's additions to the team. There were no supposed tryouts for either of the 2 players and they were picked up with the expectation that issues were eventually going to fix themselves. He made it sound like there were people making important decisions that were not qualified at all to make those decisions. And the consequences of those decisions ended up coming down on KyKy unjustly.

He also explains the cocco situation and why he didn't get any playtime, which I won't go into for spoilers, but that combined with Custa's comments on Oversight about cocco probably not having a future with the Fuel ends up making sense

Alot of this stuff is pretty obvious and I was really waiting on some kind of a conclusion from him to elucidate why he talked about each of these points in particular. xqc is not the most articulate speaker but his logic can actually be well formed if you can follow it. More importantly if he finishes his point which didn't happen because his stream cut off. The main meta concepts that he seemed to be building around were team building strategies and the shortcomings of the fuel in relation to these. For example he talks about 1) the importance of mechanical skill 2) standing behind players and developing them properly on your team 3) he seems to suggest that he was going to talk more about why or how the fuel seemed to add players arbitrarily without a functional plan for how they were going to fit into the team and without having any tryouts or input from current players 4) he talks about how management for the team asked him for advice and this was when he considered himself just a streamer with little knowledge implying that the management was completely in the dark as to having any indication of weather their decisions had merit.

I THINK what he was trying to make his overall point was that: the fuel didn't even have an above average plan for how new additions would play out in team strategies. And mechanical skill was there with their players but not to the extent needed to carry them out of their team building phase. Where teams like boston picked an assortment of mechanically skilled players and committed to working through the initial learning phase, the fuel simply switched gears too many times without a cohesive plan and without any serious commitment to ANY plan in general. Now this may have been due to kyky but I have a feeling that it is something systemic within the fuel and obviously with the news of kykys release it seems that the lack of an overall plan and the general mentality to drop players and switch focuses may trickle down from other management and possibly even a mentality from the owner. It's too bad. They were always a team that picked some of the most proven and/or most interesting players. But that seemed to be where their real strength lay. And having the management on board with a plan for actually making the team work THAT THEY BELIEVED IN so that they could follow it when in doubt was the area that they REALLY fell too far short in.

Point 4 is not about Fuel's management team. It's about when he was doing tryouts pre OWL, I have an idea about who he's talking about but not sure.

No Rascal why am I even supporting them anymore. It's only Mickie and I suppose Seagull left.

There's no point bothering with Fuel anymore. They build up the hype with promising performances, give KyKy full control, solve the main tank problem, FINALLY look like they're going somewhere aaaaaaand they get rid of the head coach and one of their best players.

Obviously there is a reason why they did this and I know absolutely nothing about the situation inside the org so it's probably a change that needed to be made but that's not where I'm going with this. Dallas have just fucked everyone around for so long now that I'm tired of their garbage time after time after time. I honestly thought they would be the team I followed but I just can not be bothered with the drama anymore. To quote the great xQc "I'm donezo", gonna go support teams that actually solved their problems and got their shit together like Fusion and Valiant.

I suppose this could be step 1 for the Fuel reformation and I'm gonna look like an idiot for saying those things but best of luck to em, I hope they do work it out.

Jeez man. Talk about overreacting. Even if Dallas is the most controversial team, even what is to come. New coach, sticking to starting lineups and no more 'kyky things' when it comes to subbing players for no reason. Dallas has been shifting roles more than any other teams and game of broken phone going in the comms. And i definietly think you are overreacting here brodie.

Every league need its Dallas, as well as its Shangai and of course NYXL, I'm not saying that's done on purpose, it's just how things usually work and in the end make the whole league more interesting to follow.

That said, even if I never was an EnvyUS/Fuel fan I totally understand why they could be a bit mad about all this constant drama.

Wow hastro really screwed Kyky over, publicly made a statement saying he has full control, so that he could scapegoat him a few weeks later. Good luck finding a top coach like that. All that's left of the team I used to support is Mickie and HarryHook (that play regularly)

And he's also screwed Rascal over, that guy 100% deserves an OWL spot and he can't join another roster until next season. Dick move.

This is why they have contracts tho, at least Rascal still gets paid. But yea not sure why they signed him with no tryouts and then waited until AFTER the roster lock to release him.

What I don't understand: When every player contract is at least for 1 year, how can Dallas simply "release" one of their players? What is the point of this 1-year-rule then?

#15

So that the player still gets paid for that year. The contracts are for the players.

Happy for Rascal, now he can go back to focusing fully on playing competitive ladder matches where teams and players have better communication and teamwork.

I feel like the picture of what Dallas is/was is becoming way more clear, and that is an absolute mess internally. I wonder if it's a clash between the front office/players and coaches?

To throw away a spot on an OWL team is crazy, things must be really bad at Dallas.

Can't really say I'm surprised about Kyky after the weird subs and role swaps week after week.
You never know who's going to play and which role they are playing, must be tough for the players mentality as well.

A bit of shocker for them to release Rascal though, I thought his genji was passable.
Definitely subpar compare to the top genji in the league but maybe better than seagull's genji.

Kind of weird they kept Akm instead of Rascal in this meta.
It was especially hard to watch akm playing soldier in 2cp over Rascal's genji.
Even though he's a top 3 solider player for sure, you need a genji blade or something for a clean team kill instead of s76 steady damage that just ult charge enemy healers in 2cp.

Lol RELEASE RASCAL! Unless he was causing serious negative vibes on the team, makes no sense. Also, half your starting lineup is now Korean, there is no way they don't see serious improvement with that lineup. Unkoe is one of the best supports in the entire league and HarryHook and Chips are plenty capable of the second spot. They really should take Mickie out too. While I doubt Seagull is a better Dva player in terms of mechanics, his game sense would make him own. Seagull knows where to be and what to do at all times despite sometimes not always executing but it's rare that Seagull doesn't come through on the play at hand. We've all seen him clutch Genji blades repeatedly.

There would literally be 0 point in releasing a player at this point in the season for performance issues. You'd just sit them on the bench if that was the case, because you can't replace them anyways. I'd say it's pretty obvious Rascal was causing other issues on the team.
