Sources close to Australia's Contenders Division have confirmed that the event's finals will be played on LAN. Little else is currently set in stone, although the news is significant for a scene that has gone without a local LAN event since the CyberGamer OCE Circuit Playoffs in June last year.

Whilst few details are concrete as of yet, it is speculated that the finals will be held at the ESL Studio in Sydney. The Studio hosted the ESL ANZ Season 1 Playoffs in March last year, featuring 4 of the countries' best teams at the time competing for their share of a $10,000 AUD prize pool. ESL Australia were also involved in the production of the World Cup's Sydney Group Stage.

After a disappointing few months during which neither Open Division or Trials play was broadcast, the news has boosted morale within the Australian scene. Contenders Australia Season 1 is set to kick off on the 12th of March with Kanga Esports vs Blank Blue.
