One of Australia's largest competitive gaming organisations, Legacy Esports, have acquired a team in the country's Contenders division. Known primarily for their operations in League of Legends, Legacy Esports were acquired by Australian Football League team the Adelaide Crows in May last year. Their pick up of the squad formerly known as Stunner Meal w/ Caramel Sundae marks their first venture into Overwatch esports.

Stunner Meal placed 5th in the Australian Open Division playoffs after turning in a 7-3 record in the regular season. The team also placed 4th in Season 3 of 2017's Open Division series. With StunneR and Saphira stepping back from the roster, Legacy are now recruiting at the DPS and Support positions.

Interestingly, the move marks Straawbella's return to Legacy after playing with the organisation's League of Legends squad in 2016. During her time with Legacy in League of Legends, she became the first female pro player to play in the Oceanic Pro League.

Whilst they may be playing for one of Australia's leading names in esports, Legacy's Overwatch players have their work cut out for them if they wish to close the gap and overcome the scene's best teams. The quality of the new recruits they bring in will play a large part in whether they can achieve this goal and make some serious noise in Contenders.
