Masterminds GC have announced their rebuilt roster as competitive Overwatch kicks off in the Oceanic region with the ANZ Open Division. CantuS, who was a member of the organisation's previous main squad, and Ex-Blank Esports player, Kiki, will play alongside the core of Masterminds Blue. Macyn has departed from the team due to study and work commitments, previously playing with Masterminds Blue in three seasons of the ANZ Open Division, the OCE Bi-Monthly Brawl and the CyberGamer OCE Circuit.

The organisation's former main squad disbanded late last year following Hus and Hoowoo's departure to Blank Esports. CantuS remained with Masterminds, competing with their sister team in two seasons of the ANZ Open Division, including their championship run in Season 3.

Kiki was a long-time member of the Blank Esports roster that once dominated Australian Overwatch, playing with the team in the first season of the Pacific Championship, as well as the 2017 World Cup, before departing prior to the commencement of the Pacific Championship Season Two. The pair are considered to be some of the Oceanic region's most talented players at their respective positions.

They will play with four core players from what was Mastermind's sister squad, namely Colourhex, tails, Knellery and Dalsu. Additionally, Smeves and Jamie have been retained as the team's coaching staff.

Masterminds will have a chance to secure the top spot in Oceanic Overwatch as the inaugural season of ANZ Contenders draws nearer. They started 2018 off strong with a 3-2 victory over Your Name Here.

The new Masterminds GC roster is:

  • Mitchell "tails" Burnett (DPS)
  • Kelsey "Colourhex" Birse (DPS)
  • Marcus "Kiki" Jacob (Flex)
  • Joshua "Knellery" Knell (Tank)
  • Declan "Dalsu" Selby (Support)
  • Paul " CantuS" van Hutten (Support)
  • Smeves (Coach/Analyst)
  • Jamie (Coach/Analyst)
