In a move that surprised nobody, Minstrel and id_ have signed for Team Liquid after playing for the team in many recent tournaments. Since adding these two experienced players to the roster Liquid have begun to regain some stability. They may have been thrown another curveball with the loss of dummy however, which hits just as Liquid had a confirmed roster complete.

dummy's absence is offset by the sensible and measured amount of time Liquid took before signing their two new recruits. Despite losing a core player, they have had enough experience with Minstrel and id for the roster not to feel majorly changed.

Robin Nymann, Liquid Director of Esports said this:

If you've been watching the team lately, then you probably already saw this coming. After a few months of searching for 2 more players to round out our team, we've finally found a pair we think will stick. We're adding Andrew "id_" Trulli and John "Minstrel" Fisher to our official roster, and we're excited to have them on board. They recently qualified for Beyond the Summit Cup Playoffs with a crazy lower bracket run, and we know this is just the start. With that note, we're also want to say that Tim "dummy" Olson is going to be stepping down from our starting roster, and we're working with him on finding a new place to call home.

id_ adds some firepower care of his Quake past. He and DaHanG are well acquainted, having won QuakeCon together thrice (2009, 2010, 2012) before. Andrew knows the ins and outs of competitive shooters more than most, and he brings a wealth of experience and swagger to the team. When he's got you on his radar, better watch out for the boom.

Minstrel on the other hand made his name in the early days of Overwatch playing Lucio, and his measured support play helped EnVyUs become one of the better teams during the beta. With a background in TF2 and other arena shooters, Minstrel knows how to aid his teammates with frags in addition to heals and buffs. He now partners with DaHanG to form a formidable support duo.

Liquid are competing tonight in the Overwatch Open by FACEIT and ELEAGUE, attempting to qualify for the $300,000 tournament.

The team recently found out where in the bracket they are for the ESL Atlantic Showdown Final Qualifier, and will have to battle through Selfless, Cloud9, and LG or Fnatic for an immediate spot at Gamescom. It will be a tough fight for the new squad.
