Beyond The Summit has returned to Overwatch with a $5,000 North American tournament, the Route 66 Cup. Despite its name, the tournament features more than just the one map and has eight of the best teams in North America battling online for first place.

Beyond The Summit appear not to have heard of marketing, and though this may be the first you've heard of the tournament it is starting tonight. At 01:00 PM PST the best-of-three double elimination bracket will begin, running over three days. The tournament organisers have also made the decision to remove Assault maps from the pool, lowering it to 11 maps.

This tournament follows almost immediately after the conclusion of Alienware Monthly Melee November, which saw Cloud9 cruise to victory, only losing one map to 3rd place Kingdom and one to 5th/6th place Selfless in the groups.
