Intel Extreme Masters has announced that the finale to Season 1 of Contenders Australia 2019 will be held at Qudos Bank Arena for the first time ever.

The finals will take place on May 4 and 5, with the grand finals taking place on May 5. The competitors will be chasing a $100,000 USD prize pool and an invite to the Overwatch Pacific showdown in China later in the month.

This LAN announcement puts Contenders Australia in a unique place alongside Contenders China. Most regions are not holding a LAN final this season. This includes Contenders Korea, which was played entirely on LAN for all of 2018.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here. Potential purchasers can pick up single day tickets at $69 AUD for Saturday and $99 AUD for Sunday. Three-day passes for both days of the finals and an extra day of competition will be available at $149 AUD. Anyone who already has a pass to the event will be able to watch all the matches at no additional charge.
