Update: Based on information from TISrobin311, it seems as though the information is true. Apex pros have supposedly already talked it about on stream and some have already sent applications.

I'm sure there's a strong chance the source isn't credible, and that it is fake. But at the same time I feel like there's a possibility that this happens, and I'm trying to convey points that this wouldn't be good for the league.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/6u22ry/c9_london_recruiting_korean_players/

This is very... confusing. The source doesn't seem so credible, so it's very possible that this is false.
But, why make it up? And if it's legit, I don't quite know how myself and other people are going to feel about it.

I know that the league represents something that is entirely international, but I feel there should be some sort of connection between a certain city and the people from that city that are going to be supporting them.

If C9 kept The Kittenz just for contenders, and imported a full Korean roster for the OWL just because Koreans are "better", how many people are going to really support London with a completely foreign roster that speaks little to no English? Doesn't matter at that point if C9 is a well known org.

I don't know if this is Alicus's decision (he's been against it in the past), so I'd be surprised and frankly, a little bit unhappy if this came to fruition. There can undoubtedly be foreign players on any team in any location, but there has to be some sense of locality in the league. Or maybe I'm wrong and bordering on controversial here.

Put it into perspective this way. If there ends up being a Sydney team, what would the Australian fans think if Sydney decided to buy out LW Blue and have them represent the city? Obviously they'd be very successful in the league, but does it really seem like "Team Sydney?" Not really.

I'm just hoping that the majority of the league isn't all mostly Koreans. I want it to be equally international, and with rumors also about Boston just buying out Panthera, I hope it doesn't fully go down this path.

As one more example- I'm a New Yorker, (and half Korean) so I'll be cheering for the New York team. However, if New York buys out a full Korean roster, I'm honestly not going to be happy.

I think monte and DoA are taking break after the immense traveling for the World Cup. They'll unquestionably be the main and premiere casters for the OWL.

Pumped to see sideshow with that genius mind of his and some more beautiful left guy.

I like Howe the open division coincides with challengers, which thus coincides with Apex. It's a whole working ecosystem, and I'm excited to see how it develops in the west.

I don't know if they'll outclass Agilities and Grim. They might be slightly more skilled mechanically, but I bet their chemistry (at the moment) doesn't even touch the Immortals duo. However, I can see them building it over time and becoming a very good match.
I wouldn't immediately start calling Misfits as one of the best rosters in the world though; while they're very strong on paper, they were also strong on paper after the three way shuffle.

Its a bit off-putting to see players like Hidan and Surefour on the bench of a team rather than a starting roster. I'm praying that they both are simply occupying their time rn as subtpstitutes, and actively trying out for OWL teams. They're both incredible talents and would hate to see them relegated as subs for Puppiez and Faze.

Wait can someone actually explain to me why I got so downvoted? I didn't know that what I said would be taken so harshly

posted about 6 years ago

LH coming to dominate, hopefully by the time OWL comes around though, some western teams can definitely put up a fight.

posted about 6 years ago

Hell yeah! Loving this roster.

posted about 6 years ago

Can someone confirm for me if Surefour is contracted to faze? Or if he's just a sub for the team while he looks for a more permanent OWL team spot away from C9.

posted about 6 years ago

I can see winz maybe moving to quake and Kolsti becoming permanent. Makes the roster more flexible.

hello old thread, where have you come from?

posted about 6 years ago

If you click on the Envision team page you can see at ChristFer is listed as their 6th, replacing Kophee as main tank. I think he's a stellar pickup for the team and performed very well on Team UK.

posted about 6 years ago

Smex would prob be their best option right now.

posted about 6 years ago

Interested to see who joins Misfits as a tank then. Also interested if this roster is attempting to be Misfit's OWL roster or if they're simply testing out a possible roster during contenders.

TBH envision has always bored me as a team, and I just can't see them placing anywhere but 8th place. I understand that they had much more of a right to the spot than NRG, but I was looking forward to maybe seeing NRG's roster (xQc says it's better than Rogue and would dominate contenders), but, there's always OWL.

Remiska, you can't put poi98 on DPS! He's the crux and the backbone of any team, he has to be shotcaller!
Also offended that I'm not even a sub for your team.

So we need an old team and a new up and coming one?

Old Gods:

Guinea- DPS
Skytrix- DPS
Victococoblazin- Tank
Enigma- Flex tank
Sideshow- Support
Penda- Supoort
Coach- Admirable

New Gods:

Pixelfish- DPS
Robokun- DPS
Winter- Tank
Tears- Flex tank
Poi98- Support
Scrubasaurus- Support
Coach- KuroiRyuu

Remiska is currently LFT. Mert and Clickbait become full-time analysts. Harsha retires.

I can see either the NA C9 roster being bought out by another OWL team, or maybe Surefour and Adam moving to NRG or something like that.

Let's talk for real though. You can say I'm overreacting, but Flash Wolves are officially the most overrated team of 2017. Yes, they dominated the pacific region, but their only true competition was Blank. While obviously they had a lot of pressure having to perform on the big stage in the US, I expected them to bring a lot more to the table. Not the most impressive mechanical play (bar Baconjack), horrible ultimate economy, and most of all, a C9.

Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

This will be closer than the USA vs Taiwan match. Rooting for UK but I think Taiwan might just edge them out.

Anything that Adamirable writes. Scrubasaurus needs to step up his game or he might get fired and replaced by poi98

I'm not saying I knew it all along, I'm just writing out what twitch chat pretty much was in a nutshell.
I did however, believe much more in the potential of the USA roster than a lot of people did. There was a reddit thread a few weeks ago and a majority of the comments were discusssing how they all found it unlikely that USA would even make it out of groups. I'm just happy that the roster proved everyone wrong, :)

I say USA wins and has an easy road to top 8- unfortunately they'd have to face SK.
If Taiwan wins, USA has a harder road to beat U.K., but then have a slightly easier playoff run afterwards (compared to the other half of the bracket.) I think USA can beat U.K. tho.
