definitely an improvement worthy of Blizzard. You can tell this had the full might of the team behind it.

Ok, guys, everyone has had bad graphic design problems and I'd like to point on the one for the Outlaws. In their like logo video with the pistols and the bullet breaking the glass, the logo at the end, isn't centered. It's minor but it's annoying...

posted about 6 years ago

It might be a bit TOO long but overall it's the right choice. It will no longer forgive stupidity but could help your team regain some ground. I still think they should just try to remove rez entirely and replace it but I think that's wishful thinking

posted about 6 years ago

god the uproar on the forums is hilarious. Its as if they are waging war against supports in a patch where they literally BUFFED a support lolol. eevee is quitting OW over it. Completely ridiculous.

Their logo is fucking incredible.

I think I misspoke (mistyped?). I meant skill floors vs skill ceilings and just said skill ceilings for both. Clearly, you understood what I was getting at tho

lol, its not even that the image itself is bad because it could work maybe but they probably could've done better there too. It's that the blending to make it look like it was natural is so amateur. You can spot that its fake from a mile away.

Aside, great set of DPS players. A lot of versatility.

yeah, I've been trying to push the idea that Mercy as a character is flawed. She's just out of place in the game. Every other character, even the easy ones, promote improving mechanics but Mercy just doesn't.

For example, besides Mercy (and Symmetra but she doesn't count), probably the lowest skill ceilings in the game are Lucio, Winston, Rein, and Reaper. Notably, all of them have much HIGHER skill ceilings than Mercy as well though. More importantly, each teaches you a lot of skills that will translate well into other heroes. They each teach you aggression, aim, positioning and timing. The tanks and Lucio teach you shot calling and leading your team. All of those skills are super valuable for other heroes as well. What does Mercy teach it's players that's valuable for other heroes? Even her positioning is just following someone else for the most part which is useless for all the other heroes. She is the ultimate 1 trick in that it's almost impossible to slide into another role with her skill set.

posted about 6 years ago

the problem is they can't touch mercy because money. Which I disagree with but understand. It's a very valuable hero for Blizzard and so the only way they can address Mercy is to have other heroes creep into her space.

The ultimate fix for mercy is to keep or lower her skill floor and rework her so she works for idiots and then introduce dramatic new mechanics to raise her skill ceiling to where Ana's is. I don't think this has really been discussed at all.

It'd be interesting to see if they could lower the effectiveness of her primary weapon or something like lower the HPS and then give her alternate weapon new abilities that might act like Ana's in a way. Have the primary weapon be significantly reduced in power but its incredibly easy or effective for like topping off targets between fights and then the pistol (or maybe something new) does Ana level healing or whatever and therefor you're raising her skill ceiling. She would need a SIGNIFICANT redesign for this to be even remotely balanced but I think that's ultimately the best choice for her. As is, they can't weaken her without upsetting people but she can't be stronger because she is just too easy...

WAIT there are people actually complaining about Genji still??? lol. I mean Genji shits on everyone but the highest tiers if they are actually capable but he's far from OP!

ok, bold prediction. If I'm right every one of you has to pay pal me 20 bucks. If I'm wrong, I'll do something crazy but I'm allowed like +- 2 variance. OWL S1 standings will be.

  1. London
  2. Fuel
  3. Seoul
    4.Valiant
  4. Optic
  5. NY
  6. Dragons
    8.Shock
  7. LA 2
  8. Philly
    11.Miami
  9. Boston

c9 is the only korean roster in OWL that will truly stand out. They are completely meta proof. The others will be top 8 but I think Valiant, Fuel and the proespective Optic will all compete.

yeah, I think all 12 members of the team should be a hitscan player.

I hated the logo until I saw the "NYXL" thumbnail on the main page. That's sick af.

whoaaaaa, the old pistons logo with the horse was sick and the new one is pretty dope...

I think the only question here is Jake really. I think the rest of the match ups are at least comparable. If Jake shows up with a solid Pharah and some solid Mcree play should they need it, this is very winnable. His Junkrat will certainly be good but if APAC has shown anything, it's that Mcree is pretty good right now and Sinatraa's Mcree, unless he's been grinding behind the scenes, is not that strong.

KyKy has shown he can win against the Koreans before though so I trust him as a coach to have what USA needs.

or even worse, it'll have actual idiots there ruining it because it'll be cosponsored by Blizzard...

Just wanna post some appreciation. This site has NO ADS but yet the event description patches are rich with intuitive detail, the matches themselves are updated as often as you could ever hope for, the streamers feature is invaluable and the information provided by insiders is frequent. We're lucky to get the insiders perspective from not only pros themselves but the casters and a lot of other insiders like Harsha. It's also clear that Enigma puts a lot of effort together to continue updating the site which is incredible cause again NO ADS!

And a pretty cool community too that is at least willing to have some discussion even when we don't agree with each other!

Thank y'all

Everyone keeps forgetting that Cocco is a god tier flex tank as well and this frees him up to take on that role. xQc is the internethulk they haven't had in a long time.

holy fuck, this is actually sick... xQc playing rein or winston and the cocco picking up second main tank or zarya again...

I think Flame is probably a little more adamant that he wanted it to be a surprise.

posted about 6 years ago

I would argue that bani, boink and muma (+coolmatt) are one of the best cores in OWL so far perhaps only behind nV. The Korean teams rely a lot more on their DPS so possibly them as well.

posted about 6 years ago

why does all of Miraculous Youngster when you display their name like mycreed etc sound like the punkest roster in OW?

Also, wtf is Misfits doing up there lol? That's actually a meme... they looked like dogshit in the finals and all throughout contenders despite wiping the floor with the EU teams. But those EU teams were garbage (except giggantti and 123 but 123 had no chance).

AF, LWB, Blank, FNRGFE, Vici, and MVP Space would all beat Misfits and some of them would do it without breaking a sweat.

posted about 6 years ago

a lot of pros are on scrim teams right now as well. I've gotten a tip that there are "practice squads" designed just to play against certain OWL teams. I'm assuming they are compiled of players meant to challenge weaknesses.

posted about 6 years ago

Custa isn't very popular in OCE? They didn't even pick him for their OWWC team despite the fact that he's BY FAR better than anyone else from Australia. He said he would've done it too but they didn't even consider him.

posted about 6 years ago

This team is going to be actually unbeatable... I really think Custa is kinda underrated or like people forget about him in the best Zenyatta conversation and you could make an argument for his Mercy and Lucio being top 5 or 10 as well. His Ana is top tier as well but not as good as Chips.

As far as overlapping hero pools, I really do think that Custa is a better Zenyatta than Chips (its close) so I don't think they overlap that much.

Think about the option to run this lineup to pull Harryhook off of Lucio and sub in Custa and run triple DPS with Harry picking up the Soldier or running Chips on Mcree...

This lineup has infinite depth. The possibilities are literally endless. I can't think of a useful team comp that they couldn't find someone on their roster to play at the highest level...

is Whoru not one of the best genji players in the world? like top 5 or even 3 depending on who you ask? I don't understand this...

Personally, I've never disliked spectating OW that much. I'm hype about those USA jerseys tho and the idea of home away colors in game. Never been done before.

good colors n stuff

but I think they're beating around the bush about how to actually fix mercy. I don't think they really get it still... or they get it and they're afraid to upset a very large portion of their community...

posted about 6 years ago

Idkkkk I'm skeptical. Seems like they're still beating around the bush at solving the real issues. I guess we will have to wait though.

posted about 6 years ago

Well, Seagull has said he doesn't play much Genji anymore (on his stream). I think his passion for the game is waning too so I think he'd like to be in S1, play 1 hero and minimize the amount of time he has to put into it so it makes sense that one of their new players would A. have the genji role B. Be someone that is known for being mechanically gifted and smart and capable of learning a new hero should they have to. So Shadder makes a lot of sense but it is just speculation. We will know soon enough I'm sure!

posted about 6 years ago

I'm late to posting on this but could the new player be Shadder2k? New flag, plays genji very well which they desperately need. Can flex onto a lot of other heroes should he need to... known relationship with Seagull, star power. It makes sense really... He's either DF or SF imo

Think about the name, Boston Uprising. What is an Uprising? What are they referring to when they say uprising? What is protesting? What would Sam Adams do? Really not that hard to follow.

EDIT: Wait, Penda agreed with me except he didn't know he agreed with me. I'm not trying to spark a political debate over OW but the facts remain that Kraft donated a shit load of money to Trump, publicly disagrees with his own players although he also distanced himself from Trump, and has a long track record of being an asshole.

So, it's just funny to me that there is all this phony patriotism shit regarding all his stuff since he literally does the exact opposite... Just a butt load of irony.

posted about 6 years ago

"The name of the team follows suit with the rest of Kraft's franchises by honouring Boston's revolutionary history" except robert Kraft hates actual patriotism. LUL

when bliz starts attaching lootboxes and skins to viewership and competition, people will watch. People will attend. People will pay. Blizzard could sell a pile of dog shit on its estore for 100 bucks and millions of people would buy it. and THEY DO, you ever played Heroes of the Storm? (I know they don't sell it)

I think you are misunderstanding why people thing Seagull is good and why he doesn't live up to the expectations. Seagull clearly does not enjoy playing Overwatch, but he does make a lot of money doing it. So he maintains the status quo so he can play on his terms and make enough money doing it. He now gets to only practice with nV sometimes and it's only Pharah and he streams sometimes so he doesn't get burned out.

What people mean when they say Seagull is good is that if Seagull practiced as much as everyone else, he would be insane. Because he would. His knowledge of movement and positioning is incredible and his aim, especially with Pharah is pretty unrivaled. Seagull was the best soldier TF2 ever had. Those skills don't disappear. They get rusty but if he was playing as much as he was in beta, there is no doubt he would be living up to those expectations.
