Their roster currently has Mendo: https://arena.razerzone.com/teams/profile/Team318672/members . Where did you hear they weren't playing with Mendo?

His confidence was definitely very exciting- I hope the scene progresses to a point where we have more top players who feel they have a strong emergency pick they can bring out. Really adds to the excitement as a fan.

Brasil Gaming House, Counter Logic, Gale Force, Team Liquid, Tempo Storm, and You Guys Get Paid? among teams competing in qualifiers (signups end on the 18th)

Also NRG supposedly will signup. Should be interesting to see!

I honestly couldn't care less how they performed- obviously i'd love to see them do well, but I follow the team for the people. I don't think how they perform is going to really impact their fandom - its not based on them being the top team, its based on the people and their story.

posted about 6 years ago

Hopefully yesterday's performance and return to competitive will help motivate them/shake off the rust to be a little stronger today - if they lose this it'll be a very short run for NRG and it'll be disappointing to see their next match be in Korea

You gotta go up before you go down on a coaster!

wait thats not quite right... FeelsBadMan

posted about 6 years ago

NRG should just stick to their traditional mains for now bc their "strats" and synergy clearly are not ready yet. They have such strong individual players that they might be able to put up a fight that way!

Yeah this series against Immortals has actually looked relatively decent. To me it seemed like their team play was understandably not just bad but awful, but when they switched to their main heroes (harb hog, iddqd mcree etc) they were fragging well. Hopefully coordination will take this roster far, but it'll take some time

posted about 6 years ago

Kings Row attack looked decent for them, the rest was really disappointing though... Hopefully APEX bootcamp will set them straight for OWL

posted about 6 years ago

Current plan I believe:
Group A On Stream
NRG vs East Wind
NRG vs Immortals
NRG vs Selfless

Group B On Stream
Rogue vs Tempo Storm
Rogue vs Denial
Rogue vs Meta Athena

posted about 6 years ago

Yeah they were going to be in Group B as well, but stepped down yesterday reportedly to give their roster a break. Unfortunate bc imo it might make these groups quite unbalanced in terms of difficulty

I'm honestly surprised they didn't change it after PTR feedback. When reading through patch notes this time I assumed they would've made it tick based but I haven't actually played and tested it out.

I think the "NRG approach" you're referring to makes sense given the state of the game. There currently aren't any "incredibly important" tournaments to attend given the low prize pools/lack of LAN tournaments. Additionally with OWL coming up, it makes sense to focus on building a robust roster ready for that and taking the time to get the right players despite their existing contracts which can take time. If OWL was currently going on/other highstake tournaments, I don't think they would've taken this long. This is essentially the offseason/preseason for OWL so inevitably teams will be having tryouts/taking their time to "perfect" rosters for the main competition.

Lucio:
Sonic Amplifier
Damage increased by 25%

Heal Song
Self-healing reduced by 33% (Note this does not affect healing done to other players)

Wall Ride
Bonus speed decreased from 30% to 20%

Competitive Play
Map rotation expanded to all maps

Update in PTR for lucio, glad to see they are still experimenting
