Who would tilt in that roster ? I'm guessing you're thinking Jake/Sinatraa, I'd have to easily disagree. I'm actually hoping for the total opposite lol, that they don't start picking random shit to 'show off'

I wonder who's gonna end up playing Sombra for this team... Jehong ? Or keep it as in APEX and leave her to one of te DPS ?

Hopefully, like last year, they give us some out of the box comps in group stage

Surefour and Adam are sticking together for sure, known each other for a long time and their synergy is what you want between teammates. Surefour said it himself when asked about his pharah a while ago, he said he wasn't the best Pharah at the time, but how Adam and himself worked together made them own on the combo. Plus everyone says Adam's micromanagement is top tier.
I'm not too worried about those two they'll find a team quick, or they'll take the time to build a new one from scratch.
C9 has had a rocky road for a long time, maybe it was time for everyone to hit refresh I guess.

Group A stacked and group D might have a couple of surprises.

And Gclef just tweeted that Bumper hinted at a Kaiser return to Runaway during group stage. :eyes:

'stepped down to become fulltime couch and manager for the team'
Huh, can I be a couch too ? I can do some amazing work :eyes:

But on the real, I look at this tourney, and I barely know the teams, but then you read their backstories and it makes me wanna watch it.

How can a former Dva player be so good on Tracer 4Head
Joke aside, didn't know he was an offtanker, makes Mangachu's job harder

posted about 6 years ago

Damn. Did they ever play on the same team before or during overwatch ?

I think he was replying to my comment :v But I'm not assuming anything, I'm sure they got to practice a lot, and the conditions that day were sub optimal, was just a half meme.
Txao's known for his tracer as well, so Russia doesn't have a real Dva player. 1st spot is up for graberinos

More like Disabilities - xQc 2017. God I love this team

posted about 6 years ago

I don't know man, Forsak3n was known fo being one of the best Zens out there before the Ana meta, then I guess he played Lucio cause Rawkus was a better Ana. But still, everybody was talking mad good about his Zen play.
And Mistakes v Surefour is gonna be good to watch, personally cause I've never though of S4's Tracer to be top tier but he's Surefour so he always delivers, and I've never seen Mistakes play but everybody says his Tracer is nuts.

It's also Sharyk v xQc, I just hope Mangachu is gonna give us a better Dva than at the showmatch

My personal favorite in the OWWC. A true KappaPride of personalities in this roster

How is the skill gap massive between USA and Sweden ? If you compare role by role/player by player, it isn't.
Yes Tviq is one of the best players in the game, but Misfits have Tviq as well, and they were not doing good until recently, and even then not that great. And if you ask me, their saving grace was Chips on flex support instead of Zebbo, who went back to shotcalling for the WC.

I don't follow the OCE scene really so I wouldn't know, but Australia wasn't so bad, they had some great moments. If they got destroyed by BLANK, it means USA got some tough competition ahead, but I don't see them get demolished with the roster they have.

Apparently the games are set to start at 8am EST for days 1 and 2, and 6am for day 3. Welp do I stay awake or do I sleep early ?

Did not mean it as in tight hard to pull a winner games. Obviously the favorites are SK - NL for group E and CA - RU for group F.
Although all the NL games are gonna be interesting, Austria has a couple of really good players, Poland is a complete unkown to me but they're playing at home so it's definitely going to make their games better to watch.

Group F is a no brainer, but the fight for the 1st spot, avoiding SK most likely, will be worth watching. Then come qualifiers which are gonna be stacked.

And most importantly, we get LAN 2easy, LAN xQc, LAN ShaDowBurn and LAN Saebae. I'm forking hyped.

posted about 6 years ago

I'm hoping for some good pregame banter and my boy xQc slaying.

On the real though, both teams look stacked, super hecking hyped game right here. 3-1 CA

This comes down to how Vizility and Jona perform imo, which is really ironic given the names in this series.
Heart says NL, but this should go to SK.

BO1 control takes at most 4 minutes from start to finish, that's way less (half at best) than what another map would mean time wise.
You say 3-3 or 4-4 + another map but logically the extra map will either be control or pure payload, since they'll want to avoid another draw (which is what I meant by considering worst case scenario). This ends up restricting the map pool again.

The BO4 you speak of are group stage games where draws are fine, I was talking about round of 16th, 8th, quarterfinals and so on, if any, where you need a winner.

I guess we have different views on the matter, but we do agree that BO1 decider is not the fairest of options as it stands now.

Add to that watching VODs on the Twitch player is aids sometimes, hopefully it gets upgraded soon.

Besides 2easy, Morte and Dante, never seen the other trio in play, we should be in for a treat.
Shanghai and Sydney were amazing, but Katowice is the most promising stage game wise imo, so here's to some great games.

And LAN 2easy Kreygasm

posted about 6 years ago

Keeping the draw wouldn't work for elimination rounds, and the only issue with adding a map is time, cause the organisers need to consider worst case scenario.
But it was just my take on it, I'm sure there are other alternatives that would fit the bill quite well.

And yes EMP in fact is a cooldown, scientifically proven by almost every team in the BEAT Invitational earlier this month.

If you think making other people 'pay' for your own personal issues is fine, then I feel sorry for you too friend.

The guy had some of the best DPS play at the time, but acting like a spoiled kid 'Because life fucking sucks right now' is not a behaviour that should be acceptable. You deal with your shit yourself, or seek help, or accept help when it's coming your way.
Yeah it's a videogame and whatnot, but it's kind of representative of his mindset. He acknowledges it and has decided not to spend his next months/years being stressed out of his mind. I say good for him.

I agree 100% on the fact that they need to change how tie breakers work, and it's not just APEX, every tournament has BO1 control as their TB game mode nowadays.

And I'm not saying it is in this case, but this might actually be a legitimate strategy for any team:
We're better on control and assault, let's go for 1 win on payload or hybrid and we take the series. Crazier things happened in sports/esports. It's part of the game, a less 'fair' and enjoyable game but it is.

On a side note, I would love seeing sudden death for payload and assault instead. One offense for each, if both teams cap, faster time wins; if noone caps, progress bar or they go again.

And finally, yes Sombra's ult charge is busted. But even though EscA isn't as mechanically gifted as other players, he runs it like clockwork, broke so many teams this season.

posted about 6 years ago

Abusing the tournament system ?! They said it themselves, LH was better on payload/hybrid so they won the title.
If they got the draw twice in a row in 2cp, it simply means they're both playing at a really high and equal level. Breaking tied maps is biased towards the better control team for sure, but this ain't no tax office, I don't know about abusing the system...

All in all great game. Gido stepped up huge and Esca, even the meme he is, is probably one of the best team players out there. Tank and support play outshining KDP was the decider, LH got the best core 4 in those slots.

And Tobi is a nut.

IIRC from one of xQc's streams, he doesn't micromanage. He does call for engages but it was Dahun, now Gingerpop, who was micromanaging.

I don't understand this need for a main tank to be shotcaller though ? If the meta goes back to favouring Rein, what then ?
DhaK, Grego and Phaz are some of the best Lucio players in NA, and there is a multitude of EU Lucios available at this very moment. I just don't know what their plan is...

posted about 6 years ago

And for the love of Jeff, someone pick BromaS up, he's been so good in both WC LANs (not a high standard I agree, but with how bad Dignitas was doing before disbanding, we didn't get to see them play much).

These games come down to clutch plays it's actually crazy. Tviq saving Hollywood and Spain not expecting forward hold on Lijiang 1st.

Tbh it looks so obvious from an outside pov but not so much when you're in the brawl. Beautiful game so far.

Old Misfits won Dreamhack with Cooller on Lucio and Zebbo on Zarya/3rd dps before it was cool. Zebbo's a very capable all around player, but I agree that with the roster they have, he's the only experienced Lucio they have.

Argentina could have won at least Horizon if they didn't panic so much near the end of the last 3 games. So close, but regardless, the argentinian squad looked really good, nothing to be ashamed of.

They do have one, Jake has been in it for a couple of months I believe

What I'm expecting today :

xQc - Train - Zza Mangachu - Surefour - Roolf - Verbo

vs

MESR - CoolMatt69 - Jake - xRetzi - Shake - Adam

Apparently Zza isn't making it which is kinda sad but oh well. Also would've loved watching DaHanG but he's at E3 I think, so I guess it's not happening, and Harbleu for CoolMatt but highly unlikely too.
