...whether as the Overwatch community as a whole or even just our community here on over.gg, is feeling very divided and very immature.
I realize this post is bound to just start more arguments but I wanted to share my voice since I've been relatively silent about all the dramawatch, only posting a few pun-comments to farm some upfrags. I respect each and everyone's opinions on this website but I think we need to be careful what we assume, accuse, and inflate.

There's obviously been situations with xQc, Eqo and etc. in the past but I'd like to focus most on the current Dreamkazper situation.

At the end of the day, we need to separate our beliefs and our opinions from the facts. Dreamkazper is 100% the one in the wrong here, not just according to what 'seems right' but also just the law. Accusing a 14 year old girl of fabricating the whole situation or approaching it 'incorrectly' is completely unnecessary. She's young and inexperienced and was probably very scared and nervous throughout this whole process. Instead of trying to put her in the same light as DK, whether you agree with her methods or not, show a little respect for someone who went through something truly horrible, especially at her age. I have a younger cousin who I'm very close with, who is also at the age of 14. She dealt with a situation quite similar to this in recent months, and based on my conversations and observations with her, people, especially a young girl in a threatening situation, can make some rash decisions without thinking about it. Let her breathe. Please don't throw blame on someone who was brave enough to speak up.

I've been reading comments on the Dreamkazper threads here, on reddit, I've looked at Lily's twitter, and more than half of it has disgusted me. Please, please, let's try to be a little better and maybe give our community a better name than just being a bunch of toxic assholes jumping on opportunities to trash other people.

Sorry if this offends you.

You read the DK thread yet dude? There are people implying that he didn't even do anything wrong or that they might even be stupid enough to do something similar lol. On top of the army of apologists showing out for him.

Is there a way to report people on Over.gg? Saw some people on the DK thread that I don't think belong on this site.

I fully agree with what you said but I'd also not be so quick to condemn some of the people posting in that thread. The DK case is a sensitive issue but it is also most likely something that is new for a lot of people to deal with. For me I hadn't fully developed my opinions or explored in any deepness how I'd react to a situation like this and seeing some of the debates taking place certainly helped me to come to my own conclusions. There were a few brash comments that I just straight up disagreed with but I'm still okay with them being posted because it gives other people the chance to counter their views, tell them why they think they were wrong and continue the conversation. That being said there were some comments that crossed the line.

This is a very raw subject and as a community we've had to all grow up a little bit in response to this. Anyway much love to you all ❤️

In general, the whole DreamKazper situation is not something I'd discuss in public. It was a display of how disgusting humanity can be from ALL sides. Let's just get over with it and start talking about Overwatch again.

to be honest it's Blizzard's fault, they created a game that attracted everyone: adventurers, engineers, memers, scientists, pedophiles, throwers, symmetra mains etc. and now in every Developer Update Jeff Kaplan says "be nice to each other" this is pathetic, the Game by itself divided us into Overwatch and Blackwatch fans, stacked US ladder and solo EU, Talon and junkers, teens and pedos, koreans and wannabe, this community is controversial by default and you can not change anything not even inch by inch, there is no just good and bad things, ask maboi Boomfist

Nice one, even thou for what concerns myself, I guess I'll simply avoid posting my view on that kind of topic, and agree with someone above me, this isn't the place for that kind of discussion, and I don't mean just the last dreamkazper case.

Just curious, what was the result of the investigation? I mean the police would be involved since this is grooming and he could face prison for it or are we just assuming this person is a real girl and everything was true?

I will agree with the very immature though, I mean you can't disagree with the majority without being singled out and downvoted for having an opinion, sadly this forum doesn't know how to act mature.

I also think it's extremely immature of society in general to expect a 14 year old to be so fucking brain dead someone asks her for a nude pic and she doesn't have the brain capacity to say no, yet only after a few months and finding out she's not his only bit on the side then suddenly developers some brain power and realizes what she did was wrong.

Does anyone have actual proof this Lilly, who made a brand new twitter and twitch account to make contact with an OWL player based on pictures I've seen is actually a real girl who is indeed 14? how many people do you think have been tricked into sending a female money over the internet only to find out it was 45 year old Mohammad from Nigeria?

But hey, we don't need solid proof or even an official police statement, just a brand new twitter account to decide ones guilt, I'm not saying DK didn't do this nor do I give two fucks about the guy but the way we just believe something instantly before asking questions is incredible and worrying. I wonder how many people would believe me if I made a brand new account and say Donald Trump sent me a picture of his cock.

From what I read from reddit and twitter it seems like the difference in opinion is really based on people's interpretation of pedophilia.

There are some people claiming he was just messing around and there are not yet any evidences of any nude pictures and no damage was done.
As my perspective there are no grey area when it comes to his action, you don't solicit a child, you don't have sexual conversations with a child. Period.

As for people who are doing the victim blaming, that's why we have these laws to protect the children because they don't know better. Even if the child approached you first, as an adult you are responsible to say no. The law is here to prevent the "fucking brain dead 14 year old quoted from a reply above" to fall victim to the child predators.

The fact that this has been investigated by the league and action has been taking is enough evidence for me. We are living in the age where everybody have a voice and platform to declare their side of the story, if he has a different side of story, it would be told already.
How much more evidence do you need after the digital evidence followed by the investigation and complete silence from dreamkazper.

Maybe it's the age difference between the player base in Overwatch but definitely a huge division of opinion between what you would think is common sense. Put yourself in these girls' situation, if you were 14 year old and some adults start making sexual advance on you, I bet anyone would be traumatized.

It's sad, but this situation is actually quite common with guys around that age group. I cannot even count how many guys (online and in real life) have made sexual comments and advances towards me when I was 12-16, and at the time I was too young to understand that it was "wrong." Somehow, they made it seem so normal. And the ones who do it with a lot of girls know exactly how to reel them in.

I was 15 when I was pressured into a sexual situation with a friend of a friend (I think he was 20). He was basically a stranger, I'd only met him that day. It is difficult to describe how I felt at the time, but my thoughts were something like "He likes me, and he'll like me more if I do this," and I barely had enough time to ask myself if it was really what I wanted, let alone how I might feel about it later. I'm glad my nerves overwhelmed me and I stopped him before long. I learned later that he did this with many young girls with low self esteem--he knew they would be easy targets. And until writing this, the age difference never even came to mind, only the sleaziness and feeling like I was manipulated.

Even now, I'm not comfortable thinking about it.

Anyway...people here really underestimate the natural human desire of a young teenager to feel accepted, especially by those we look up to.

Thanks for sharing your story, bud. It's terrifying to think how common this is.

A lot of people who say dangerous things like "age is just a number" and "girls mature faster than boys" completely miss the point, in my opinion. Age differences inherently and unavoidably create a power dynamic that just isn't healthy.

I've not had something quite this extreme or even similar to DKs situation but I definitely dealt with a lot of harassment from adult men sexualizing me starting when I was like 12. I'm a dude btw too. Many adult men are fucking weird and can't think about anything other than where their genitals are going and even where other people's are going. It's repulsive.

Hey Pixel! it's "A" from HNP and i'm really glad that i'm actually going to have a reasonable discussion about this situation. (as you "suggested" I not do so in the discord) First, I would like to commend you for actually doing some form of research into this matter. From what you posted I see that you, unlike almost everybody else, actually paid enough attention to how she even spells her name.
Secondly, you may be right in that this tragedy really occurred. But you defending her way of going about making her accusation, while possibly well intentioned... is entirely off-base. Her going to journalists and twitter before poliece, her parents or a trusted adult just shows how dreadfuly intent she is on destroying his career. All you need to do is go to https://www.google.com and search "how to accuse someone of..." and insert your own word at the end of the sentence. Saying that she was remotely intimidated or forced into doing ANYTHING is making a mock of her intelligence.
