When this happens a ton of professional sports but yet this is a major issue for OWL for no apparent reason :thonking:

Ok yes this is rude but I see no reason why everyone hates the fact that there are not local players on teams.

I know I don't speak for everyone, but that is an issue for me with professional sports. I've only ever supported my national team and a small local team.

In principle it's not an issue, but in reality there's no way I can connect to an NA org running a full team of Koreans with all games played in LA, that apparently represents London. I actually like C9 as a brand, but the only actual connection I've seen to the UK is that video with Stylosa.

How many LANS has he been to? I think people forget that OW hasn't had as many LANS as people think they had and it's a bit hard to compare his performance in the WC playing for a poor Belgium team don't you think?

I'd say he has been to a lot of LANs compared to the majority of OW players. Dreamhack Winter, TakeOver 2, WC, Contenders and now OWL Preseason.

So we judge him really on Contenders where his team finished 2nd and TO2 that had the best European teams in attendance where he finished 4th and the WC playing for Belgium who are in all honestly shit. I can't remember the stats but pretty sure he didn't flop as hard as people like to claim at Contenders and TO2.

People just have massive expectations for players like Logix and unless they destroy everything then they suck on LAN.

Can't even use football as an example here, you never find an English team with 24 Spanish players, them having 10 different nationalities is not even remotely close to what they have done here, you won't find an NFL team consisting of an entire nationality that isn't American do you.

It's even more ridiculous that it's a British team for an American based organization fielding two Korean lineups, nobody should compare this to any sport because nothing like this has ever happened or ever will.

you arguably can look at how the FA had to introduce that mandatory number of British players per team in the primer league to ensure the growth of home talent.... they wouldnt do that if there was no issue would they. (also i did say NOT TO THIS LEVEL)

Ok, would the organization rather have a team of EU and mainly English players who have proven themselves to be decent but not tier 1, or get two teams of established winners who have taken down the best teams in the world in Korea

I mean at the end of the day it’s about winning, not local heroes

I agree I think there are a lot of newer players who need to get acclimated to LAN, and there are 40 matches this season to do so. Give it time and players like Danteh and Logix will eventually hit their stride and it will be easier to judge their performance.

Most people here just heared one of the analists say thats Logix has choked on every lan so far so people assume it's true. You could clearly see that Misfits/Mayhem clearly have/had bigger issues than individuals not performing as well as they should. Also, he played very well at the nations cup considering Belgium was bad compared to the teams they've played against where he got shut down pretty hard.

Picture this for a second:

The Seoul spot is full of Americans meaning all the Korean fans have to support Americans for the home games.

The Shanghai spot is full of Koreans meaning all the Chinese fans have to support Koreans for the home games.

Does that not sound fucking ridiculous to you?

Whatever way you look at it this is a bad move, forge that is very vaguely happens in "real sports" because it never has to this scale, this is about common sense and expecting British people to support a full Korean line up lacks any common sense.

Why should it matter that someone’s Korean
This isn’t the World Cup
It’s organizations
Who loosely represent different cities

Sure it sounds ridiculous because South Korea has by far the most talent out of any country so it would be the most retarded move in the world for them to not have a South Korean line-up.

The Shanghai spot is full of Koreans meaning all the Chinese fans have to support Koreans for the home games.

Again, China has a large professional scene and a ton of talent. You're comparing two countries with solid scenes to the UK.

This is about common sense and expecting British people to support a full Korean line up lacks any common sense.

Im from England and would much rather support the current London Spitfire line-up than any UK line-up. Im not going to support players just because we're born in the same country, being born in the same country doesn't mean you relate to the players in anyway.

This is probably going to be a massacre. The Mayhem were very disappointing in the pre-season, and with only the six players they don't really have any flexibility. You're going to see the same thing every week, and I just don't think they have the individual strength to overcome that. They should be easy to plan against. And then the Spitfire are just packed with great players that easily match or exceed their counterparts on the Mayhem. They had a little bit of growing pains, but they should have ironed that out by now. LDN 4-0 FLA.

Yes it would be cool to see logix vs Birdring/profit but i think LDN would win 4-0 but if logix plays as well as he does on the ladder he maybe could contest with the birdring and profit but i see that to be unlikely

Interesting that London is only fielding these 6. I wonder if that's a strategy to save players for the next game or give different looks or what? I mean, I think it's sort of obvious that these are their best 6 though.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a pro Numbani full hold. It seemed like most Defending teams just assumed they would lose the first fight and just carry on. London showed us how it’s done just then. Assuming that it didn’t happen yesterday, I missed most of the games because EU LUL.

He didn't hype me, was for sure better than what I expected, but damn he really has no idea what he's casting, hyping the wroong stuff, missing what's actually happening.

I knwo I sound like a hater of the guy, while I have nothing against him, except him taking the place of guys that would do his job way better under every aspect.
