The simple reason that LAV is much more likely to be better is simply because of their almost endless flexibility capabilities (that's a mouthful) compared to the Shock.
Shock has phenomenal DPS players, but no true dedicated offtank player- Sinatraa has a fantastic Zarya, but also a great tracer- Danteh has an alright Zarya/Dva, and Babybay plays an alright Dva, but then you're losing those player's DPS prowess if you stick them to offtank duties. Obviously SF Shock has plans for how they're going to play, but when you compare it to Valiant, the LA boys can pretty much run any combination of heroes at a very high level, simply because they have more players spread out to different roles. In terms of how matches for Valiant will play out, the team will most likely be divvied up into hero pools like this:
Silkthread: Tracer
Grim: Soldier, McCree, Widow
Agilities: Genji, Pharah
SoOn: Junkrat, Reaper, Junkrat
Numlocked: Reinhardt, Winston, Orisa
Fate: Winston, Reinhardt
SPACE: DVa, Roadhog, Zarya
Envy: Zarya, DVa
Verbo: Lucio, Mercy, Moira
KariV: Zen, Ana, Mercy
Unkoe: Ana, Zen, Moira
If you're anywhere from gold-plat-diamond, on NA servers, and you have a good D.Va/Hog to complement that Zarya, then you're in for offtank duties!

Holy shit I actually completely forgot about this. If contenders Korea/China become online, that could legitimately spell disaster. I do like that Blizzard is trying to make everything more organized underneath their vision for the scene, but I do hope they keep some of the traditions of the tournaments there.

Yo guys relax, ur like jumping on me for no reason. I never said ogn was bad- it just allows the entire tier 2 Overwatch scene to be much more connected instead of having multiple different tournaments run by different production groups. Blizzard having some upper management (not replacing) over the APEX (and maybe future OCE/CHI) circuits will allow the scene to have more unison and make it easier for newcomers to the scene.
You guys get way too uptight if someone has a separate opinion from you.

One of my personal favorites is Misfits vs fnatic at the DH Winter grand finals. Another great match is Cloud 9 vs Kongdoo Uncia during APEX Season 2. Also, check out Immortals vs Rogue during the BEAT invitational finals. These are all some matches that are often looked over but actually were a lot of fun to watch and all showcased some high level play.

I hope you realize this has already been discussed, debated, and laughed about. Happened 2 days ago.
I can’t believe Jeff Kaplan actually meide this hero. I meian, what was he thinking? Mei is a meijor disruption for the competitive scene. She’s the opposite of ameizing. Even her animeition was boring. FeelsMeiMan.
Don’t really listen to that. Blizzard does care about contenders, and hopefully announcements arrive soon, it’s just that Blizzard’s primary goal right now is to focus and market the OWL. Once the season gets rolling, Blizzard can then put some hype into contenders and the players there to get people interested in mid season signings and the multiple teams that exist outside the premiere league.
Besides all the players that have been mentioned (especially Adam and FCTFCTN PLEASE), I also think a player to consider for mid season signings is Harbleu. Is Hog and Zarya are both very good, and he wouldn’t be a starter, but definitely a valuable asset.
Also, Dante has always impressed me (especially his zen) plus he has the ability to flex to DPS if needed.
I think it’s fine right now, but I wouldn’t mind city flags or an “OWL” flag. Adds to the flag meta.
I posted something like this a while ago, and I got some good suggestions from people that have actually massively improve my Overwatch competitive experience.
-I continue to watch and follow the pro scene closely, it definitely keeps you occupied
-Find a full team of friends to do pugs with and scrim with, sometimes for fun, sometimes for competition
-Try approaching solo queue or duo queue comp with a very open mindset. The best way to climb through ranks is if you work with the team around you rather than debating who can do better.

I wonder if by season 2, they’ll demote some of the current OWL players to contenders, and vice versa, depending on their performances and their chemistry with Fl0w3r.
