Before i start, this is not MY ranking but rather a combination of rankings from different community members and pros as i decided this would be the best way to rank pros in Overwatch, i'd love to see other peoples top 20 so feel free to post in comments so here i present you the

Ranking of top 20 players in Overwatch in 2017 part 1

20. HarryHook

Spain over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

EnVyUs
Dallas Fuel

Results:

  • 2nd Overwatch Rumble - April
  • 4th Overwatch APEX Season 3
  • 1st Overwatch Contenders 2017 Season 1: North America

There are many flexible players but hardly any come close to HarryHooks, with his ability to seamlessly switch between heroes as different as lucio and soldier 76 and incredibly high level on all of them he was crucial to EnVyUs’s ability adapt to different metas and rosters.

19. TviQ

Sweden over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

Misfits
Florida Mayhem

Results: 4th Overwatch PIT Championship - Europe Season 1
2nd Overwatch Contenders 2017 Season 1: Europe
3rd Overwatch World Cup 2017

TviQ is one of the best known players in all of overwatch, with his incredible performance on enormous range of heroes he is by many regarded as one of the very best players in the west. This being said his results this year are very underwhelming, with the fully Swedish Misfits failing to achieve any success it was only when they picked up Belgian and Finnish players were they able to perform in the first season of contenders but they still ultimately failed to Gigantti. With the lack of results Swedish super star couldn’t be higher in ranking.

18. Boombox

United Kingdom over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

Cyclone
Cyclowns
eUnited
Philadelphia Fusion

Results:

  • 2nd Overwatch TaKeOver 2
  • 1st Overwatch Contenders 2017 Season Zero: Europe

By many hailed as the best Zenyata player in Europe with incredibile aim British support player helped his team win many games by getting crucial pick or surviving dual with tracer and producing one more clip. Thanks to this he helped his team dominate most of 2017s European scene.

17. coolmatt

United States over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

Fnatic
FNRGFE
Houston Outlaws

Results:

  • 4th BEAT Invitational - Season 2
  • 4th Overwatch Contenders 2017 Season 1: North America

Coolmatt (until recently coolmatt69) was one of the best north american D.Va player. His impressive play was crucial to the success of the team of misfits in FNRGFE as well as the national team of USA in Overwatch World Cup.

16. KnOxXx

France over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

Rogue

Results:

  • 1st Alienware Monthly Melee: February
  • 1st Alienware Monthly Melee: March
  • 1st Alienware Monthly Melee: April
  • 1st Overwatch PIT Championship - North America
  • 1st Overwatch Rumble - April
  • 1st Overwatch TaKeOver 2
  • 1st BEAT Invitational - Season 2
  • 4th Overwatch World Cup 2017

KnOxXx was the main tank of rogue playing winston nearly every game and while his hero didn't have such carry potential like the dps and even Zenyata his solid play on which the team could always rely were crucial to Rogues success in 2017.

15. Saebyeolbe

South Korea over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

LuxuryWatch Blue
New York Excelsior

Results:

  • 3rd Overwatch APEX Season 2
  • 1st Overwatch World Cup 2017

Breaking hearts of both, his fangirls with the information he is married as well as his enemies in game with his incredible Tracer play Saebyeolbe is one of the best Korean dps players and while his team, LuxuryWatch Blue, did not see success in 2017 he was was able to show his worth during Overwatch World Cup.

14. SoOn

France over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

Rogue
Los Angeles Valiant

Results:

  • 1st Alienware Monthly Melee: February
  • 1st Alienware Monthly Melee: March
  • 1st Alienware Monthly Melee: April
  • 1st Overwatch PIT Championship - North America
  • 1st Overwatch Rumble - April
  • 1st Overwatch TaKeOver 2
  • 1st BEAT Invitational - Season 2
  • 4th Overwatch World Cup 2017

SoOn is by many regarded as best western players, while his playstyle is not as flashy as many other tracer players and he might not win every one on one his ability to load pulsbombes in incredibly fast time and consistently stick crucial targets with them are one of the most impressive in all of overwatch. With his stellar performance he was one of the key pieces in Rogues success in the dive meta. While it wasn’t needed of him to play much of other heroes his mccree widow and roadhog are also very impressive. With the tracer unlikely to go out of meta anytime soon it was no surprise that he was quickly picked up for overwatch leagues Los Angeles Valiant.

13. Fl0w3R

South Korea over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

LuxuryWatch Blue
New York Excelsior (underage)

Results:
-3rd Overwatch APEX Season 2

  • 1st Overwatch World Cup 2017

Prodigy child of Overwatch, Fl0w3R, is by many expected to take the scene over but in 2017 he did not have many opportunities to prove his worth as his team haven’t won anything and he could only shine during the Overwatch World Cup, still his impressive performance on wide range of heroes was one of the factors in the victorie of south Korean squad.

12. Taimou

Finland over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

EnVyUs
Dallas Fuel

Results:

  • 2nd Overwatch Rumble - April
  • 4th Overwatch APEX Season 3
  • 1st Overwatch Contenders 2017 Season 1: North America
  • 3rd Overwatch World Cup 2017

Taimou might be a hitscan player with the highest skill ceiling in the world, he could carry his team to the victorie with widowmaker when pretty much no one else played her. Other hero on which he shines is a roadhog on which he can hit hooks out of this world but his lack of consistancy and relatively limited heropool meant that in many cases he was not there when his team needed him the most.

11. Miro

South Korea over.gg profile Liquipedia profile

Lunatic Hai
Seoul Dynasty

Results: 1st Overwatch APEX Season 2
1st Overwatch APEX Season 3
1st Seoul Cup - OGN Super Match
1st Overwatch World Cup 2017

Miro is similar to KnOxXx in that there never was as much attention on him as on dps and support players of Lunatic Hai but his Reinhard and Winston were the backbone of their success and his impact in making them the best team in the world can't be overlooked.

ill repeat myself but i did not have any impact on this ranking i just combined the rankings i received.
Hope you find this as well as the second part in which i will present top 10 players in 2017

I'm curious, lists like these are wholly subjective since we don't have a universal way of factually ranking players in a game that somewhat limits their individual impact.

So if this isn't your list, which community members is it from and how were their opinions weighted? I ask because this will largely be an opinion piece and I'd very much love this to not turn into some kind of flame war because people don't agree that A player is better than B player for X reason(s).

Otherwise nice post, looks well structured to me.

i Tried to include as many povs as I could, from eu na mainly but I got korean as well, from community members to some pros and all equally, then players got points for place they had on each list, I also added some points for tournaments players won and high placings but points dependent on importance and competition in these tournaments and how often he was in rankings
This all into equation and I got this ;)

Nice list remiska. One small error I noticed, HarryHook didn't get 3rd at the OW World Cup. When can we expect 10th-1st?
