Possible unpopular opinion but please enlighten me on how a thread like this would bring any benefit to current Overmatch discussions?

With the current lack of information the last thing we need, imo, is trying to come up reasons to panic or otherwise.

Just my two cents, carry on.

Great, now I'm hungry - for both food and Overwatch.

Another one bites the dust. Sad to see them dropped, but I hope they still complete their contenders run.

I think people have the impression that he's a meek little kid because of his small size and his somewhat tame disposition. At the very least that's the vibe I got from the small amount of exposure I got to him.

But yeah as you mentioned, whenever I'd see translated interactions I'd always be surprised at his demeaner and how he seemed to cinteract with older or "higher ranke" individuals in the context of their organization.

As a self proclaimed weeb he seems a bit at odds with what I know of Asian culture and their respect for societal hierachy.

In any case I hope he hasn't been suspended for the remainder of the tournament, they seem to have a very real chance of making the semi-finals and would really need him if they were to face AFB...

That's unfortnate, I hope they find a suitable replacement quickly...though with all the free agents swimming around I think they can do it.

Good deal, more OW for me to watch is never a bad thing!

Mano is a surprisingly talented tank and personally I'd put him just below Miro in terms of Winston, but above him in terms of Rein.

I think he's a good choice since either of them would have been a strong option.

They had quite a few bouts where ults were being used uncharacteristically out of sync. Best examples I can give would be Hollywood and Anubis specially on attack for both.

I think they should be fine against LWB if Janus is still out but I worry for the possible match up against AFB. Granted they haven't been as challenged as LH has been but they just can't be underestimated imo.

posted about 6 years ago

I'm loving the fact that so many teams are looking like they could be contenders this year. A big step in the right direction.

posted about 6 years ago

LH was able to outskill Conbox but that was closer than the score shows. They should be able to get through LWB without Janus but I really hope WhoRU comes back because the lack of coordination really showed a couple of times.

A lot of teams are looking so much better than last year. Not gonna lie though, I want us to win but Korea looks scary AF. I'm hoping we can avoid having to face them for Blizzcon Qualifications but hell, I BELIEVE!!!

This match is going to give me a heart attack.

Much better showing than their first match vs Meta. If they can stay consistent X6 should also fall.

Edit: EFFECT once again showing why he's one of the best Tracers in the world. He just opens up so many possibilities for nV when he goes off.

I'm assuming most people are rooting for them as the last western team in APEX, but in any case I don't know why North Americans wouldn't be able to cheers for any team regardless of where their players are from or where the team is based.

Your comment is wholly irrelevant, please don't try and cause undue conflict.

GC Busan's been tearing up Challengers for the most part so this just increases the chance of getting more teams like Runaway or Meta Athena that can shake up APEX.

Feels like there's a sense of continuity with this.

Mendo's 5yo cousin.

I look forward to seeing a LH vs AFB match-up if the former can 1. make it there and 2. get back to full form (LWB looks kinda screwed with Janus having to through an operation to fix that collapsed lung)

"Fingers", he said in an interview that his fingers were the issue, not his wrist.

posted about 6 years ago

To be honest though the more I educate myself on this the more I think it was a good decision. As for the DPS duo as long as Flower is in proper form this should be good. I think Rascal and Birdring also could have been a good choice but in any case this team is going to be scary af.

Since my team Canada is in the same region as these guys I can only hope we finish at the top of our group just so we don't have to face them just go get to the playoffs.

12 y/o? I thought he was 8 no?

posted about 6 years ago

Welp, ma boyz got rekt. But they'll recover and come back strong next week to lock down that 2nd spot!

posted about 6 years ago

NO MIRO?!?!?

posted about 6 years ago

I see, though looking at groups right now they would have needed 2 wins and a lot of help from other matches or three wins and some help/luck. In the end it would probably have come down to map score since getting wins vs Movie and 123 evens the head to head.

Clearly more doable than not losing a single map but still very unlikely imo.

posted about 6 years ago

Shadder2k on 15 ping = only dropping 3 maps? That's terrifying.

posted about 6 years ago

Welp, a 3-1 puts them in third for now With a 1-1-1 match score and a 6-6 map score vs Kungarna's 1-0-2 match score and 7-5 map score.

Good news is that if they get two wins next week they should be through.

posted about 6 years ago

They NEED a 4-0 to set up for next week and give themselves a chance at top two. Hopefully Kungarna gives them a hand as well. I have yet to lose hope for my fav team.

posted about 6 years ago

Team Liquid showed up. Now, can they keep this up for another week? Cause this is looking pretty damn good.

posted about 6 years ago

Realistically they would have had to go 12-0-0, finishing at 14-10-0 to even have a chance of making the playoffs, that's asking a lot from a team that was only able to get two map wins the first weak.

They'd also need help from the other teams to make sure they got that 2nd spot. I like to dream but I don't think that was going to happen.

Really sad to see them have to split up though. They were beasts before getting picked apart.

posted about 6 years ago

My predictions for next week are that Groups B and D should stay the same with the top two teams possibly trading spots but no movement otherwise.

Groups A and C are still up for grabs seeing how close three of the four teams in each group are.

For Group A any of the top three could turn it around and only Esporati is realistically out if it. A victory sgainst any of the other teams in the lead plus a the expected win against Esporati could see anyone of them either claim or consolidate their spot in the playoffs.

Same for Group C since NiP could still have a chance if they continue to improve and manage to get a win off of one of the top two in addition to a repeat victory over Gamer Origin.

Looking forward to next week cause dis gon' be gud.

Pretty dominant performance right there. Immortals looking better than they have for quite a while now.

posted about 6 years ago

Kariv is just nutty.

posted about 6 years ago

I totally missed that fact. ALL HOPE IS NOT YET LOST!

posted about 6 years ago

Not good for C9, now they have to hope that RNG beats Kungarna pretty decisively and that they themselves reck Hammers to have a chance at 2nd.

I'm disappointed, I though they at least would have tied if not won the map score here.

ConnorJ needs to go over to Toronto Esports if Luddee doesn't work out. He's with them for Contenders Season 0 but I don't know how permanent it is.

posted about 6 years ago

I assume it's not that easy to get Canadian players, that fit well together and perform to the required level. Specially since there aren't that many notable Canadian free agents.

Look no further than nV as the best example of an NA team without a single NA player.

I'm just happy to see a Canadian org doing well regardless of their player's nationalities.

posted about 6 years ago

Admirable confirmed that Fury is in for _ID today, looks like they're testing out the 2-2-2 dive.

posted about 6 years ago

Impressive game, C9 is pretty much gonna have to 4-0 Hammers and at the very least tie RNG to guarantee a spot in the playoffs.

posted about 6 years ago

Toronto Esports should make it out of this group in 2nd at least. High hopes for the resident Canadian and his 5 adopted siblings.

posted about 6 years ago

Ma boys be bringing the pain in a super polite and Canadian way.

posted about 6 years ago

Someone predicted this and I guess it makes a lot of sense. It let's them go 2-2-2 dive more effectively, but I wonder if they'll bring him back in for triple DPS on some matches. Would it even be worth it?

posted about 6 years ago

I just noticed that they added ties to both match and map scores! Woooo!

posted about 6 years ago

It's unfortunate that this match isn't streamed. I would have liked to see it and the C9 vs RNG one but from what I read production costs would have been exponentially higher just for two extra matches.

That and a really long casting day for Left Guy.

On another note I have no clue who will win this. I give the edge to FaZe just because they did so much better during qualifiers but otherwise I don't know. I just hope TL shows up for this one and plays as well as they've shown they can.

posted about 6 years ago

I can't confirm, but I'm guessing it's Carpe for this one.

posted about 6 years ago

I'm loving the upsets going on in these playoffs. Much closer than I had assumed, we'll see if 1246 can do one better and complete the major upset!

posted about 6 years ago

1246 is showing up!!! Heck, could they pull off the insane upset against LGD? I don't think so, but I dare to dream.

posted about 6 years ago

Unfortunate, guess we'll have to wait a bit until we see our low ping Genji Gods in action.

posted about 6 years ago

Is SDB in NA yet? Cause Shadder is, and that would be an unfair Genji advantage. I want to see these mass blade killers go at it with 10-30 ping!

posted about 6 years ago

HIP HIP....HURRAH!! Knew they had it in them!

posted about 6 years ago

Really unfortunate but hopefully they all get orgs to continue their careers.

posted about 6 years ago

I was impressed. And I only just now understood the 1-2-3 relevance to their number of flags. This team has stolen my analytical heart with their mastery of flag/name/logo coordination
