2-2-2 flag meta too stronk.

posted about 6 years ago

Renegades absolutely dominating, clearly Mangachu's superior Canadian politeness is carrying. Apologizing after each kill in the new meta.

Jokes aside, RNG's surge is impressive and pretty exciting!

GO GO C9!! I believe in the 2-2-2 flag meta!

FaZe Clan turning things around?

I believe in ma TO boyz. They got this, REVERSE SWEEP!

mmm I'd say more like grade-schooler-esque

omg, he tried so freaking hard to get them to shit talk with him LOL. Hell, even xQc's bants are less pathetic than this.

I highly doubt it will. They're streaming the two teams in each group that we didn't see last week, only Yikes! and Toronto Esports are getting a 2nd showing. In any case I don't if any pro other than Seagull would have streamed.

I did wish that they would just record the vods anyways. This is very unfortunate.

The flag meta just wasn't stronk enough. Turns out being a misfit was better than being a ninja with attitude...

posted about 6 years ago

I guess that proves it, synergistic flag meta > rare flag meta. Had no clue who these guys were until last week but they just keep showing up and crushing dreams.

Love it.

posted about 6 years ago

eUnited decided to wake up and absolutely destroy their opponents today. Good to see them back in dominant form.

posted about 6 years ago

Misfits really found their stride this week. For the first time I feel like they're looking more like the team I thought they'd be after the big trade.

I hope this continues into next week as well.

posted about 6 years ago

Blank showing that they can adapt just fine when push comes to shove, really happy to see that they were able to dispatch them so cleanly.

Looking much better for the next series now.

1246, is there no end to their ability to surprise? I love this, I didn't expect them to pull through but they showed that they were to be taken very seriously.

Just amazing, I hope they can keep this momentum into which ever next tournament they participate in!!

posted about 6 years ago

Look like 1-2-3 were the Alfa this time around. The surprise gift that keeps on giving!

Team Singularity wrecking faces on their way to 1st in their group. The fact that it helps out RiP is just the candy in top for me.

posted about 6 years ago

I'm so happy RiP was able to come back and compete like I thought the could. I think it was pretty much perfect that they got this group because it gave them a solid chance to restructure and come back stronger.

posted about 6 years ago

aaayyyye!! Who needs Ninjas when you can just rebuild a third of your team, get fully rested in your pj's and qualify for the playoffs!

posted about 6 years ago

eUnited recking faces today and they manage to help out another of my favored teams to boot! THANK YOU RNJESUS!!

posted about 6 years ago

Though I mostly agree I think their lack of synergy was because of their play styles more than communication, though it's not like I have any way to prove that theory, but it's what it felt like to me.

I truly think they need to build around their DPS and have players that wholly subscribe to the idea of team play like Seagull did.

The guy was willing to play/do anything for the good of the team and I think they need more guys like that so they can play around 1 or 2 individuals.

I think Koreans are more apt to be those team focused players and who knows, it could actually work.

posted about 6 years ago

This would be interesting since Moviestar beat them 2-0 with Finnsi...now if they were to somehow get there revenge with him having jumped ship.

Holy "poetic justice" Batman! I don't know what issues they were having internally but he'd probably be laughing all the way to the finals after that one.

I'm assuming playoffs will be 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 here.

posted about 6 years ago

This is interesting, I have no clue how good the other teams are but I hope these guys do well. It took a lot for them to be able to fight their way into APEX so I'd like to see them succeed.

posted about 6 years ago

Who will win this time? Will tempered chaos of the rare flag meta prevail or will the synergistic effect of the 1-2-3, flag, name and logo trilogy meta triumph?!?

FIND OUT NEXT ON OVERWATCH FLAG WARS!!

posted about 6 years ago

This format really shows who's the better strategist because if gives you so many games to adjust, adapt, win or even comeback from defeat.

I can see it both being an advantage and a disadvantage for the team that makes it through and the one waiting for them in the finals because one will be well rested with a lot of time to plan for their next possible opponent while the other will be fully warmed up, but possibly fatigued from the previous sets of Bo7 series.

In the end I still think Flash Wolves will take it all but I hope who ever they face gives them a real challenge!

posted about 6 years ago

Very true, I forget that there's another vent after this to actually qualify for APEX.

Thank you for the correction.

P.S. If anyone is interested you can find a list of the Challenger Week vods, in Korean of course, ->here<-

If they do get picked up, I hope they get to keep the name/logo. My slight OCDness revels in the synergy their lineup, name and logo have.

It's a bloody masterpiece.

posted about 6 years ago

ikr? As some predicted, eventually the whole OW scene will be nothing but Laser Kittens teams. Alicus will then just buy out Overwatch on his path to conquer all eSports.

posted about 6 years ago

Blank showed up for this one. I almost gave up after the first two maps but they stepped it up and just ran with it. I fully expect ahq to come back in full force tomorrow but I hope and believe that Blank can hold them off and get the back to back series win.

posted about 6 years ago

Sounds like they might just provide accounts with access to the region to approve players/teams for scrims so I'm guessing it would be possible for future Contenders seasons to use this.

I have no clue what the actual logistics would be like but this is quite interesting.

posted about 6 years ago

This lineup adds so much flexibility to the squad, I hope they synergize well as players too. Really hopeful that they can pull through and possibly nab the 2nd spot in the group.

posted about 6 years ago

They play KDP, the first seed on the other side of the bracket. AFB will play the winner of LWB vs LH.

posted about 6 years ago

I think they look better than they previously have but they haven't faced any of the big teams yet. I'm not sure how they would have done vs any of the big teams at full power.

We get to find out how they fare against KDP and even though I want them to win I'd have to lean more towards Kongdoo coming out on top.

posted about 6 years ago

Solid 3-0 from nV, even better than I expected. I thought this was how the first match was going to go but it's really good to see that they were able to adapt.

posted about 6 years ago

Davin/Linkzr/Zappis with Mafu/Hymzi on the bench. They're trying new things, I hope they find themselves in this new meta.

Edit: The new lineup really adds a good deal of flexibility to the squad, if they can somehow gel that quick this might be the rise of a new top tier EU team sooner than expected. and hopefully they consider sticking around afterwards.

posted about 6 years ago

That would make sense.

I did read up on collapsed lung surgery and it usually takes 1-2 weeks to recover and up to a month of bed rest to reduce the chances or recurrence.

If Janus does play, which it honestly sounds like he shouldn't, I'm not sure how effective he'll be. We might not get to see these two Korean giants at their full strength, but hopefully it'll still be a highly competitive game!

Edit: Funny thing too is that they kept the late time slot for this game and the early time slot for nV vs X6, unless that's changed, even though there's only one game each day.

posted about 6 years ago

No clue, they decided to split the matches for some reason.

posted about 6 years ago

And it begins, if I understand correctly a team needs to win two of the three Bo7 sets to go on and face Flash Wolves in the final. I'm rooting for Blank but realistically I have to give the advantage to ahq since they seem to have gotten much better at reading Blank over the previous weeks.

Hoping for some tight matches all the way!

posted about 6 years ago

I totally agree that either one of these teams could come out with the win, but I'm not confident in either's chances against KDP, mostly because of how X6 was dispatched by AFB, twice now and that nV doesn't look like they can handle that style of play as you mentioned.

I do think nV has a slightly better chance, mostly because KDP's backline tends to be somewhat exposed so EFFECT might be able to do enough work to enable the rest of the squad before they get destroyed by Rascal and Birdring.

Lord knows I've been hella wrong before though.

posted about 6 years ago

They did for Season 3 Challengers but not Season 4. I thin the current APEX 3 english casters were the ones that actually casted for Season 3 Challengers.

I assume they didn't want to have them casting 5 days/week since challengers were on Mon/Weds/Thur.

posted about 6 years ago

I'm hoping this will be a solid match. I do think LDG will end up winning this but you never know, 1246 has genuinely surprised me by making it this far and in the fashion they did. I'm gonna take a stab in the dark at predicting this:

LGD Gaming (4 - 2) 1246

posted about 6 years ago

bahaha you know what I meant!

Ryujehong did mention, in an interview, that he thought LWB would have Janus back in time for this match. At this point I don't think LH will have WhoRU back in the lineup in time.

posted about 6 years ago

Ryujehong mentioned that Janus might be back for this match. Personally I think it's dumb that they decided to split these but it might end up giving an advantage to LWB if WhoRU isn't back from his disciplinary suspension.

I think the winner will be determined by who has the full roster.

posted about 6 years ago

ikr? I think they'll win this one but the semis match could be brutal. Now if X6 win the match I predict a swift 3-0 by KDP. If nV wins we might get a 3-1 or 3-2 if they make it a real set.

posted about 6 years ago

Mo money mo problems. Jokes aside, it's good to see an org getting more support!

posted about 6 years ago

C9 needs to beat Kungarna and Hammers to have a good chance of making 2nd, or better yet RNG and Kungarna for an even better chance and possibly even a shot at first.

Completely doable, I think they under performed last week and have no doubt Bishop will have come up with some solutions.

posted about 6 years ago

This might be an unpopular opinion but let's try and keep this type of conversation in it's own thread and not on the match discussions. IMO, this isn't the type of debate that can foster constructive criticism/discourse.

posted about 6 years ago

I think nV has a solid chance of winning and shouldn't be caught off guard this time around. I think they can possibly pull off a very close 3-1 to get a swing at KDP in the SF.

posted about 6 years ago

Sad to see Enigma go but happy that he's moving on to other things of his own accord. Coolmatt's a good pickup too so I hope they show YIKES! what's up.

posted about 6 years ago

Oh my, so Davin, Zappis and Linkzr, no Mafu or Hymzi. I really hope RiP (lol) does well this week to offset the bad news they got.

posted about 6 years ago

I would have rather seen 123 vs Movie but I'll take this as a consolation.
