poi and the Monte video summed it up perfectly. The top seed of each division gets a first round playoff bye, but after that it all goes by best record regardless of division, got it. I like how they chose to do that. Thanks for the quick responses!

On the Overwatch League website it has a Pacific and an Atlantic Division. https://overwatchleague.com/en-us/teams

Pacific has Dallas Fuel, LA Valiant, LA Gladiators, SF Shock, Seoul Dynasty, and Shanghai Dragons.

Atlantic has Boston Uprising, Florida Mayhem, Houston Outlaws, London Spitfire, NY Excelsior, and Philadelphia Fusion.

When the playoffs start, will they do it like other sports where they separate the divisions so that no matter what, the championship will have to be two teams from a separate division? For example: If Dallas and Seoul are the two best teams at the end of the season, would they be on opposite sides of the playoff bracket and be able to play each other in the championship? Or would they be on the same side of the bracket and have to play each other in a Pacific Division Championship in order to get into the OWL Championship against the best Atlantic team?

Sorry if I missed something but I was just confused about if divisions effect the playoff bracket like that or not and I haven't seen any information about it yet.

Yeah he actually had huge moments when they weren't focusing him so hard at the beginning of fights, I think it's more like # 2 said, and there were a lot of questionable hero picks at certain times.

Taimou had a sub-par performance for the most part, and they still 3-0'd FNRGFE. Just goes to show you how good the team is as a whole and how flexible every player on the roster is. In my opinion FNRGFE was the toughest opponent they will face in Contenders, so i predict another 3-0 in the finals regardless of who they face.

That would be entertaining lol

PogChamp! This should be very interesting. Arguably the 2 best Korean teams vs. the best Chinese team and Lucky Future.

I'm hoping they have a Misfits vs. EnVyUs Showmatch (assuming they both win) afterwards even if it's not at LAN. I'm sure things are getting crazy with OWL coming up soon but I can see both teams agreeing to it, and it would be amazing to watch and see how the best of both regions stack up with eachother.

Damn, good thing you can change your votes because I agree with putting Nevix in there.

I know it's a little late, and I posted this in the comments of an article already, but I want to know who you guys voted for as your All-Stars for the NA vs. EU Team Deathmatch Showmatch that will happen during the Contenders LAN this weekend.

Here is the link - https://www.overwatchcontenders.com/en-us/home/s1deathmatchvoting
Votes have to be in by 11:59 PM Saturday Oct 7th.

I voted for-
(NA) - Taimou, ShaDowBurn, Seagull, and EFFECT.
(EU) - TviQ, LiNkzr, Logix, and Hafficool.

If i was to replace 1 from each team with a support:
(NA) - Swap Seagull for Chipshajen.
(EU) - Swap Hafficool for Zuppehw

I'd prefer to watch 4 DPS/Flex vs. 4 DPS/Flex rather than include supports though.
Plus, I want to see LiNkzr vs. Taimou Widow, and EFFECT vs. Logix Tracer with no supports.
Please share who you guys voted for as well.

Edit- I made the thread so reply there

I'm not sure what the rules are regarding that, but this is one of the biggest games of the tournament in terms of deciding 3rd-4th place.

So it's better for FNRGFE and Envision if EnVy don't try that out today lol but it's one of the best times for EnVy to try it out since they are locked in for the playoffs already. It depends on if they have already been scrimming together at all and if Seagull is in the team house already etc. etc.

Surprised so many people automatically think he's a replacement for someone. If I'm EnVy I'm not changing a damn thing right now in terms of the starting lineup.

He's a valuable addition regardless, even if he doesn't play in the starting lineup, he's an asset to any team.

Envy has been my favorite team since they formed, and they have never looked better than right now.

I like Seagull, I think he's a great guy and good player, but unless he strictly subs in for Taimou in matches where they feel the need for a Genji or Pharah(which they haven't felt since Talespin left), I don't see him starting in tourneys much if at all.

He's a good brain to have on the team though, and should offer some valuable insight when they review VODs and such.

That being said, I welcome all former NRG fanboys. You are now full fledged EnVyUs fanboys like me.

Glad to see a Western team make such a deep playoff run. I'd like to see EnVy take this one on the 4th of July and advance to the grand final, but it will be a close match. EnVyUs 4-3 KDP

Not yet, but i agree with you that they should be able to all play from LA. I'm just suggesting what could happen otherwise; not assuming anything at this point.

posted about 6 years ago

Yeah I believe their team houses are, but for instance, if Blizz won't allow 2 teams in same city C9 could acquire the San Francisco spot, and Hollywood Hammers would have to settle for...well...somewhere else lol but we'll have to wait and see what happens if it's a bidding war for LA.
