  6. Outlaws
  7. Fusion

Discuss: what team has best DPS?
I would go NYXL with Fl0w3r and SBB, but Fl0w3r cant play yet. So I would Say fuel, although they do not have a god-tier projectile like LAV with Agilities and Silkthread (I don't care what you say, Seagull is not the caliber everyone puts him in)

It's kind of strage how Envy won 4-0 against Faze, (a team which was considered 2nd best in NA and have 5/6 of their players in OWL, one of which being arguably the best projectile player in the world) with such a handicap, they basically faught 5 v 6 and managed to win 4-0 with this trash player throwing their game since he's not "pro-caliber". Do you realise how stupid you sound?

Seagull wasn't the only player used. And I'm not saying NV is bad. I don't think anyone says that. Seagull is not outstanding on any hero, he can competently play a lot of heroes. I exaggerated on the "pro-caliber" part. I'll edit that. I still don't think he's top 5. maybe top 10 of current pro players. Taimou is good, Effect is fantastic. Seagull is nowhere near the caliber of these two. This is my argument. Seagull is not a good enough projectile player to validate the statement that NV far and away has the best DPS

??? Fuel almost unquestionably has one of the best DPS groups. Taimou is a hitscan god, Effect is a monster tracer, Seagull is a top 10 world Pharah/Junkrat/Hanzo, and has a pro level genji. Don’t quite know what you’re talking about when you say Fuel doesn’t have some of the best DPS players.

They do not have top-tier projectile. Seagull has a deep hero pool, but he doesn't excel at a pro level at any of them. Yes Taimou is fantastic, and so is Effect but so are SBB and Fl0w3r. I also think LAV has a phenomenal DPS team. GrimReality McCree, SoOn tracer, Agilities Genji/Roadhog/Pharah and Silkthread (insert projectile here) Also KariV widow is incredible

Agilities and Silkthread are not top tier projectile players tho. Top tier Genji (Agilities that is) yes, not projectile.

I think Seagull's genji always lacked the support to shine. Additionally, he has fallen off a little since not playing pro for a while and such. Talent definitely there. I think Seagull is the strongest phara in NA. Easily top 3 for sure. He also plays a lot of other heroes at a good level; high level on most heroes, defo not the best but this is something teams like to have as well.

Remember, we haven't seen much of seagull for a good while, who knows how good he has been at his peak?

I remain optimistic.

Bro ur out of ur mind if you don’t think that Seagull is a god tier pharah. Just watch the contenders matches

I have watched the contenders matches. I do not think that he is the same level as some other pharahs. A good pharah yes, a god pharah, no. I didn’t clarify well. Agilities is a very good pharah, and a stunning genji, Silkthread is also very good. As a whole LAV has god tier projectile

Shock 6th is bold. Their DPS is crazy, but Nomy is a horrible tank and they have very poor supports

No he's not. He is one of the best Winstons and reinhart in NA. Don't forget he was one of the key members of the immortals dynasty

I didn't. There is a reason that Immortals got Fate. Nomy is terrible with Earthshatter last I saw of him. He could not use ults efficiently. Also the IMT dynasty was Contenders Season Zero

does the Winter Premier and the Carbon Series, the two season style tournaments in 2017 prior to Contenders S1 not mean anything to u. Are you going to come up and tell me for the first half of 2017, Immortals wasn't the best team in NA. For how long was Immortals considered a constant contender for every tournament they were in. So in the Winter Premier and Carbon series, you really thing that Nomy, in a triple tank meta where Reinhart was a key part of, had nothing to do with their winnings. The main reason Immortals gave him the boot was when triple tank was falling from the meta and dive was coming in, Reinhart fell from the meta. Several reinhart mains such as Nomy, Numlocked, and Fragi struggled badly because its hard to land shatters on such fast moving targets. He is one of the best Main tanks in the game. Your just pissed that you can't hit 5 man shatters like him. Come back and we'll talk about the Shock's " very poor" Supports in Dhak and sleepy

also, a dynasty is not one just season, its multiple championships in a set period of time,

#45
LordOfHorns

Frags

No, I watched all of those games. Nomy did not play in the Winter Premiere semifinals and Finals. And Immortals was not the best team in NA. If you want to say that "best team in NA" means that every single one of their players was a part of North America then yes, but if you don't say that then LG Evil made a very convincing argument, YIKES! also were very good, but Selfless was the undisputed king of NA. Only losing to rouge, they were phenomenal. Nomy was the worst part of IMT. He would constantly shatter when they had already lost the team fight, or just to land a 5-man, when it was 1 v 6. Nomy was not a very strong tank. Merely average, or slightly below for a pro tank. Carbon Series had good, not great teams. No Selfless or Rouge. Just 6 teams. Similar to Winter Premiere. I've watched almost every IMT game since Winter Premiere, their dynasty was Contenders Season Zero to Beat Invitational.

#46

So are you telling me that a team of Immortals and Nomy should not have been taken seriously because the "caliber" of teams wasn't good enough. At the time of the Winter Premier and Carbon Series, both Rouge and Selfless were building their new rosters. Rouge became the great they are today in February, a month after the Winter Premier and right when the Carbon series took place. When it comes to Selfless, it wasn't until the Pit Championships were they were taken seriously. So at the time of the Winter Premier and Carbon Series, Immortals was better. And how is Nomy, the main tank for one of the greatest na teams, considered average. Average doesn't make it into OWL.

Not sure about SD since they could easily came 7 imho... a lot of different choices and option.
SD can easily swap up to Boston or Lav
Same for Gladiators and Houston

I waana say that for me OWL is close as f...and if the last become the first i will bot be that surprised but i had to make some choices.

Actually under the best 5/6 is all close but A LOT...so i have to decided something....i put Shock last because they are the team with more weaks points. No change for support(except for Nevix) No offtank specialist (they will go for Nevix) no projectile Dps except for Nevix... but Nevix is only one. Also i am not sure about their backline and about Danteh. So i pit them last for this. Boston major problem outside of the bench( dream snow note avast). Is that they dont have a projectile specialist( so problems but less than Shock). About Houston: i dont understand why FNRGFE core is value more than Misfits one from the people. Except for Coolmat maybe Muma wiston and Clockwork Mc cree they are not near in any way to the others team. The big add are Linkrz Spree and Rawkus who save them. But they remain with only 3 1/2 holder spot at OWL levels ( offtank flex supp and projectile...whilr hitscan is half cause they dont have tracer players) Muma is not OWL level for me . Is reinhartd never bring him anywhere. The wiston yes but you cant have only a monkey specialist since you lose the combo with Spree. About Boink he never convince me. They have a good bench but they cannot cover all their lack imho. But i think thar all spot can be earmed by almost all team. But this is why i prefer a team over another.

Their tank and support lines are one of the sickest in the League for me. SBB is a monster, and Libero is the most versatile Korean player, perhaps no Flower, but he is up there too. I just got a feeling about them.

  2. NYXL
  3. Fuel
  4. Dynasty
  5. Outlaws
  6. Valiant
  7. Fusion
  8. Dragons
  9. Gladiators
  10. Mayhem
  11. Shock
  12. Uprising

Now my favorite teams in order, and why I'm rooting (or not) for them:

  1. Fusion: ShaDowBurn fangirl btw, but also a big fan of Carpe, Boombox and Joemeister. Also really happy that Poko and Fragi got picked from Contenders. Finally I just happen to love physics so special mention to the name and logo.
  2. Outlaws: My TF2 boys Clockwork and Muma are in there! The FNRGFE squad is awesome, and their pickups are great too: Linkzr is one of my favorite players and streamers, Mendo is super nice, and SPREE and Rawkus have proven to be reliable players. Their YouTube channel is dope too (I love the "How well do you know your teammates" videos tbh). The logo, name and colors are awesome.
  3. Excelsior: Saebyeolbe, Pine and Ark are just outstanding and really nice to watch playing. I also can't wait to see Fl0w3r play. NY is also a really cool city. The whole branding of the team sucks though.
  4. Fuel: Basically the All-Star lineup of the League since they picked Seagull and xQc up, but out of all of them, Mickie definitely is my favorite, and Effect is 2nd only by a small margin. The rest of the cast is also really really cool, I wasn't expecting the custa pickup but I'm happy with it, he's a great player. Their team colors and logo are awesome, among my favorite in the League.
  5. Valiant: Immortals + uNKOE, SoOn and numlocked, seems like a great lineup to me. The last 3 additions are awesome (especially glad uNKOE and SoOn got picked up), and I particularly like Agilities. Branding is cool though I don't like the green that much, but it's really personal preference.
  6. Dynasty: With the addition of the 4 new DPS, I think they will achieve great things. I'm a big fan of Fleta and Bunny especially (and of course, the LH squad too). Their branding is probably the 2nd best in the League, with gold and black being sober but incredibly classy and stylish colors, especially together.
  7. Spitfire: GC Busan + C9 Kongdoo? That's a stacked mixup if I've ever seen one. I'm still a bit mad at GC Busan for winning over my boys RunAway, but heh, that's how things go, and I think overall they'll do amazingly well. Their branding is cool but not outstanding.
  8. Gladiators: Probably the roster I was the most surprised with (I wasn't expecting a mixup like this), but it looks really promising. Not particularly a big fan of any of the players though which is why they're so low. Their branding is great and their communication is on point.
  9. Dragons: I don't know any of those players tbh, but that's because I haven't been following anything from the chinese OW scene (except they all spam "666666666666" when something cool happens), which is why they're so low in my ranking. I'm just asking to be surprised though. Their branding is, in my opinion, the best in the League: name is simple but efficient, logo is great and colors (red and gold) are royal.
  10. Shock: Probably one of the most hated teams in the League, and I don't get why. The players look cool overall and I'm excited to see how they'll perform. Branding is cool yet I still don't get why "Shock"?????? Whatever.
  11. Mayhem: Honestly, I'm not a particularly big fan of the Misfits to begin with. If they perform, cool for them, but otherwise I won't care much. But their branding, oh god... It's the WORSE. Seriously, the logo is just too plain, and the colors just make the skins look like McDonald's toys. Red and yellow is only cool when red is dominant and yellow secondary, not the other way around. The only cool point about this is that I hope we'll get a McMcCree skin.
  12. Uprising: Sorry but only a few of those names ring only a small bell in my head, and their branding is also quite awful. Hence why they're my least favorite team.

(I think I never wrote this much on an over.gg post)

(Disclaimer these tiers are separated by thin margins)

  • I’m feeling particularly confident about the first two teams.
  • Spitfire is loaded, of course, but has their questions of chemistry. Regardless I think they’ll beat up on inferior competition and have one of the highest ceilings of any team.
  • Just a feeling Fuel don’t meet everyone’s expectations in the standings. partially because I think LA Valiant will be real strong, I’ll make a bold prediction and have them finish in front of DF (cheering for Dallas btw). As a whole, the Fuel, are super versatile, innvovative and talented. I still expect periods of dominance and they easily have one of the highest floors of any team.
  • The outlaws and fusion, will be tough to beat. I like their depth and Houston’s logo just has me believing.
  • not a popular decision in the community having uprising so high, comparatively speaking. But their red flags, IMO, don’t outweigh some of the other teams issues and I think they surprise a touch.
  • gladiators and mayhem just lack depth and with how long the season is, and how volatile overwatch can be, I expect some bumps in the road. But again thin margins between these tiers. The shock scare me for other reasons, no sinatraa or super yet, I know there are some big egos otherwise.

What do you realistically think the Dragons ceiling is ? For me it’s top 6 finish and a quick exit in the playoffs. Just curious, what your thoughts are, sounds like you have more insight on the Chinese scene than me. Although I will agree undead and Diya are sick.

Dynasty and NYXL are both well-rounded teams that have stars up and down their lineups and the classic Korean team-first mentality that has helped catapult Korea to the top in esports. Dynasty have demonstrated the most poise under pressure, which is why I'm giving them the edge, but NYXL's dps line, even without Flow3r, is unreal.

Spitfire have an incredibly talented roster, but I don't think their team cohesion will be quite as good as the top two. If they can manage to overcome the complications arising from having two distinct teams on their roster, they can win the league.

Fuel are talented, but over the course of a long season I can see them breaking down. Maybe it's just because I'm personally biased against Taimou (he's a great player, but there's no denying he's not a nice guy), but I feel like they won't be able to sustain success against the top teams, especially if they lose a couple matches early on, due to the nature of some of the players. Stamina is an important aspect of s1, and I feel like the Fuel might be lacking that. Of course, they could certainly prove me wrong and do better than I'm predicting, if the team can keep Taimou in check, and it's very unlikely they'll do any worse than 4th. They have the talent, but talent isn't everything.

Outlaws and Valiant both seem to have good chemistry, and while neither of them has a ton of star power, they can both field consistently meta-proof rosters, which should help throughout the long season. I gave the edge to Outlaws because of their tank line, but if Agilities plays well Valiant could be a scary team. Valiant have a lot of potential, but it remains to be seen whether or not they'll meet it. Outlaws need Clockwork to play like TF2 Clockwork, or the meta to shift away from full-time tracers.

Mayhem have a good roster with solid chemistry, but they'll need to make signings halfway through the season if they don't want to burn out.

Gladiators are an enigma to me. On the one hand, picking up Kungarna's tank line might not have been the best idea. On the other, BigGoose really impressed me during contenders, and people really seem to like Surefour.

After watching Mykl's video on Uprising, I feel like they'll at least be alright. Striker will need to play very well for them to win games.

Fusion have talent, but they appear to be an incredibly disorganized team. Hopefully Shadowburn can save them.

Chinese OW appears to be corrupt and filled with incompetent management. I don't expect anything good to come out of China for a while. At least the players probably have had some time to practice together and learn to play as a team.

Shock had better hope Nevix and dhaK can overcome the NRG curse, otherwise, until super turns 18, this team will get stomped on.

Mayhem only has 6 rostered, teams will adapt to them quickly. Fusion just sucks. Houston is basically FNRGFE on super sayain which had close results with Houston while sponsorless and facility-less, don't sleep on them. Korea is massively overrated here, think of how Korea took a toll on Envy, now Korea has to experience the culture shock themselves.

I think the bottom tier teams can be a bit wrong since that will most likely depend on how the teams merge together and how quickly and if any of them manage to get a win over a top tier team if the top tier team decides to use players that are normally on the bench or so. 5-8 is also very tough to call imo.
