Optic was in talks with Weunited waaay waaay back. Optic has always had an eye on OW. They've just been really careful

Throughout their history in Call of Duty, they have long held a rivalry with Team EnVyUs, this being dubbed 'eClassico'. Although the roots of this rivalry is in Call of Duty, it has now found its way into other esports including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Halo, and Gears of War.

Now they look to be expanding that rivalry in-state with Overwatch in the OWL.

Well EnVy's one of the best teams in the game, so they got their work cut ouf for them. And with so many good FAs, there's so much potential for a god squad to be formed.
