100% agree. F2p is bad. It forces the company to make its money some other way; micro-transactions aren't enough so usually the end result is less savory.

Well, people are still worried that Blizzard wants to have its cake and eat it too, given their love for expansions and such.

In any case, a price like this will present a pretty steep barrier to entry that will limit the game's adoption.

wouldn't mind spending 40 bucks or even 60 bucks, but the lack of a demo and conflicting opinions about the game really make me wish there was a more open beta or demo first so I don't have to sink that much into a game I'm going to hate

I have no idea where everyone got the f2p idea from. I knew almost from the start this would be a b2p game, for exactly the reason you are talking about. Blizz just wants to make a fair experience for all of the players. I expected the price tag to be lower, but hopefully a forty dollar cost will eliminate a lot of the annoying, money-grubbing features.
