Is ID getting back into OW? cuz he left for Quake for a bit?

posted about 5 years ago

true about the location in the forums lol. My bad.

But yeah definitely don't get it twisted. I think the site is amazing and Enigma constantly kills it.

Just would love to see a bit more engagement and your explanation of reddit is almost exactly why. It's a cluster fuck most of the time despite being the "hub" if you will of all things Overwatch and competitive. There are tons of people that would benefit from joining the discussions over here but sometimes I swing by to see what's up and see that no one seems to be commenting on much and then I'm like eh well maybe there is more discussion elsewhere.

Tons of people would benefit from our discussions about tactics over here too. That's all over the subreddit and they always get shit answers and responses that don't help anybody.

I know we are competing hard with Reddit and such but I'm noticing that our community seems to be lacking in engagement and sharing on content.

Curious how we can help change that besides just commenting more. How can we get more people to the site?

IMO this is the best place for keeping up with scores, streamers, rosters, and general info on anything on going or upcoming. Our events section is unmatched anywhere.

Only improvements I might like to see on the site is the inclusion of coach information on the team pages. Actually that'd be huge.
Improvements on the standings in each league or event. Like currently for OWL we just have some kinda confusing standings in the "summary" section but I think we could expand this into win streaks and power rankings and such to really make it pop. More engaging.
and a bit more in depth discussion of balance and patch changes.

Just my 2 cents because I really like the site and I want to see it doing well and drawing in other community members.

I mean, I wouldn't call Envision T3. They have at least 3 OWL worthy players right now.

this meta is so stupid.

Ez for Buds. The forgotten one. Our only regrets in life is that we haven't gotten to see Buds absolutely decimate all the Korean widows.

posted about 5 years ago

they never really played widow much against each other though.

why is sayaplayer not in 100% of the time? anyone know?

I just wanted to come to talk about how on Well on Ilios besides the boops and pulls into the actual well, most of the game has been spamming at Orisa shield and idk how that doesn't seem like a problem. Like it's really boring watching RH and Dva just shoot at a shield since they have no reason to move once they have the point.

Ok, I know Dafran topics are worn out but I think most of us are extremely interested in him because we recognize that talent. I don't wanna turn this into an argument about his willingness to compete either. We've gone there. We all know the story and the sides and the "he will do what he wants" attitude but that's not what sports speculation is about lol. We just shooting around random thoughts.

So, the other day he was competing obviously for fun in open division but it's his first known venture into organized play since his break (besides pro pugs obv).

I don't know if he spoke on it at all in the stream but I'm still curious about it. He looked a little shaky on that stream but definitely honed in on advanced strategy rather than flashy pogchamps.

So idk, lets talk about it.

I got that it was a joke, it was just a rude one and it could've been not rude, and still been funny.

posted about 5 years ago

ok, I was pointing out that decelerated isn't a thing. It's disabled lol. Just for future reference.

posted about 5 years ago

idk, pretty boring for my taste. It doesn't seem like there is much to develop. Like the strats are ez enough to pick up and then it's just learning to build and aiming and then what? Compared to other amazing games, you can spend hundreds of hours developing skills and still suck or spending hundreds of hours and still not have completed everything like Skyrim or something like that. Just doesn't have that longevity to me.

posted about 5 years ago

what is mentally decelerated?

Newer players I think haven't had time to get their jersey's embroidered. They don't just print the names on the Jersey's and unlike the bigger sports leagues, Blizzard probably doesn't have production facilities on call. Just to answer that for you.

posted about 5 years ago

SHD looking like they really putting work into Blizzard world and honestly, that's a really smart idea. They're behind on all the old stuff but they can come out ahead on new releases because they have the skill level to edge out opponents now.

posted about 5 years ago

god this is a train wreck... Dallas is the only team that would be this fucked from their star leaving. Hell DK got kicked from the league and Boston is playing BETTER

posted about 6 years ago

I think SHD could beat Dallas right now

Dafran and Sinatraa

Shock has Dhak who is from spain which in OWL is very rare.

edit:except I totally forgot harryhook and neptuno but still Spaniards are pretty rare in OW.

How did they just lose that lol?

Use this reddit They've never been wrong for me yet

posted about 6 years ago

Lol RELEASE RASCAL! Unless he was causing serious negative vibes on the team, makes no sense. Also, half your starting lineup is now Korean, there is no way they don't see serious improvement with that lineup. Unkoe is one of the best supports in the entire league and HarryHook and Chips are plenty capable of the second spot. They really should take Mickie out too. While I doubt Seagull is a better Dva player in terms of mechanics, his game sense would make him own. Seagull knows where to be and what to do at all times despite sometimes not always executing but it's rare that Seagull doesn't come through on the play at hand. We've all seen him clutch Genji blades repeatedly.

"someone get the holy hand grenade to deal with this guy" - Semmler 2018. Wow. Just wow. Absolutely incredible reference. Absolute pogchamp.

Don't give up tho! just make sure you get Shadder for the Romania team this year and y'all will do really well and both of you will get hella noticed.

Effect actually threw that with his double blink with just him on the point. If he just waited and didn't die, they win.

Anyone else feel that we are seeing a bit more of Kyky's unrestricted coaching today? This Dallas looks a lot more like the one we saw in preseason. Remember in preseason, they were running these really odd comps but they were tailored to their strengths and map specific? They won all their matches in preseason because of that and then they just kinda stopped doing that. It was really bizarre.

Also, a third Korean is probably not hurting them.

posted about 6 years ago

wow... what a map. Akm's kill on jehong at the end there was insane.

posted about 6 years ago

I'm curious about their comms. I think most non-all korean teams use English as their primary language but Shanghai is unique with Chinese and Korean players and no EU or American. So do they speak Korean or Chinese or English even as most of the world learns or uses some English?

Also beyond that, I'm curious about people in Korea and China. In the states, it's not uncommon for your average person to know a decent amount of basic Spanish because of the proximity of Mexico, do Korean and Chinese people also end up knowing some of the other regional languages?

I've not had something quite this extreme or even similar to DKs situation but I definitely dealt with a lot of harassment from adult men sexualizing me starting when I was like 12. I'm a dude btw too. Many adult men are fucking weird and can't think about anything other than where their genitals are going and even where other people's are going. It's repulsive.

posted about 6 years ago

Because they need to see if it is justified to suspend him from the league in the first place? Notice "we are investigating", then they quickly discover that there is validity to the claims and that they are worthy of police investigation (which is always private because they police don't care) and then less then 24 hours later they released him.

If you steal from your job but they don't have easy evidence right off the bat, they investigate to see whats up and if its worth reporting you to the police, they do. Same concept.

...Dreamkazper because he's an adult and should know that he shouldn't take advantage of a 14 year old. The parents are her guardians and care about her, but it is not their job to monitor her every action to make sure some predator isn't taking advantage of her.

She's 14 as well. While 14 year olds are still stupid and do need guardians and guidance, they are old enough to begin forming their own opinions and making their own decisions. The parents who don't start allowing their children longer leashes upon entering high school are insane and blaming any parent for offering incremental amounts of independence is asinine.

posted about 6 years ago

If you're not actively using the internet and a cell phone by 14 in today's society, you're going to be left in the dust by ALL of your peers. It's just reality. The longer you keep your children from these things, the more harm you cause them. The solution is to help develop healthy relationships, decision making and boundaries with technology and the internet just like anything else.

posted about 6 years ago

You read the DK thread yet dude? There are people implying that he didn't even do anything wrong or that they might even be stupid enough to do something similar lol. On top of the army of apologists showing out for him.

AZK was on the team the whole time but they were seeing success before Fury and Hulk had joined on. ie getting second in the pit championship in April two months before they joined and only losing to Rogue. And they were losing like crazy in the carbon series and shadder came in half way through and then they won out.

Carbon starts on the feb 20th. Shadder joins in game 2 week 2 and up to that point they had lost every match. After that they lost 1 to RNG and 1 to IMT. They beat, LG Loyal, Complexity, and 3-0d LG Evil who went on to win the tournament so he basically flipped the switch over night.

He was 17 at the time too and I think all those games were from Europe. Didn't get to NA til Pit and Contenders.

posted about 6 years ago

Absolutely, Shadder without question. The most underrated by far. If he was in OWL and had been having all that great practice like everyone else, he'd be a top 5 dps probably. He's insane and his impact is unreal. He's not the best Genji in the world but his Genji is definitely the deadliest and he plays like 5+ other heroes at OWL level. His DF, Junkrat, Pharah, Soldier, Sombra, and Zarya are all OWL level.

People forget too that he pretty much singlehandedly took Liquid from struggling to taking Rogue to 7 maps.

Depends on how good his lawyer is and how the evidence portrays him. They might be able to portray the "ignorant" or ill equipped to deal with his "fame" card to keep him from jail but he's almost guaranteed to end up on the sex offender list and he obviously will receive other punishments. Depends on where he is tried too. In cali, he's going to prison no matter what but if it's his home state or perhaps hers (im not sure where they are from), it might be different. Some states laws are a bit more lax on stuff like this.

Some of these responses here and on reddit are big YIKES. Some of y'all are terrifying. Stay away from children please.

YOU WERE MARGINALLY SMARTER AT 21?? Are you joking? This dude is a 21 year old MAN. A full grown adult. People are graduating college by 21 and voting and entering into all sorts of very advanced positions. He's probably had adult grown up sex. He's probably dated people for lengthy periods of time.

At 14 I had barely had my first real kiss and holding hands with girls was considered PDA. I thought myspace surveys were fun at 14. Also, by 21, I was pretty revolted by girls beyond 18 and even 20ish because of the maturity difference. If you can't recognize the difference between the maturity of a 21 and even an 18 year old, you're insane and that is worrisome.

The girl is too immature to understand the gravity of what is happening. She has absolutely zero clue. She doesn't know what it's like to go to bars or parties and be actually hit on. She has no idea what real flirting looks like or what healthy sexual boundaries are. People her age explore those things together as they grow up. They don't instantly start learning them from some adult creep. That's fucked up. ya, high schoolers and shit are sexual but they are sexual with each other. They both have similar sexual immaturity.

DK is solely at fault for this. As an adult, it is his responsibility to make healthy choices regarding actual children. That's why children have guardians and why they have acting guardians like teachers and coaches so someone is around to take responsibility for their well being because they aren't mature enough to be fully capable of understanding their own well being.
