Hype is going on! This match will be hosted in TV also by Turner!
Winner takes 100k and 2nd gets 32k!

These guys will be playing versus EU bracket winner :)

Certainly promotes winning, whoever comes top is in for a fat payday in OW terms.

If you win you get shitload of scrilla, if you come second you can cry and think about your 70k mistakes.

I think anyone coming 2nd will be quite ok with their 32k, i like this distribution :)

ryb played amazingly this entire tournament, he's just so solid lmao it's like watching him play tf2. Obviously they won't cut skipjack, both because he was fantastic and because he's been away for family issues, but I think ryb has proven himself as a world class tank here. Nevix is a god as well and Hidan has been on fire.

ya I think its a shame that ryb is being overlooked a lot. hopefully this guaranteed 2nd place+ finish means he'll work his way onto a better team after this ends :)

I actually think ryb had a few big mistakes on Day 1 (esp versus Rogue), but really showed up for Day 2.

It still seems really funny that in the big US vs EU showdown, there is only one US player.

I find it funny that all these EU teams keep migrating to NA.

Well, you get bigger salaries in NA, Also there is more people in single region = more tournaments

its 10PM EST for NA people. The tournament is going to be shown in National TV in NA so thats why its bit late for us EU plebs

Kind of makes me sad the only player representing the US is probably the weakest player on both teams (Talespin). Not saying he's a bad player by any stretch but post-Pharah meta he hasn't been as effective on other DPS heroes.

#31

Well, Talespin has had his own moments. He has been in bit slump but definedly not weak player overall.

If Misfits take this its going to be a perfect finish to their story line. Odds stacked against them with all the roster changes, not to take anything from Ryb or Hidan as they've been fantastic, hard to believe they are recent additions to the team given how well Misfits have been playing.

#45

Hey zebbo did win a first place title with [R]eason Gaming back when he played tf2 if my memory serves me correctly, so technically he's already broken it.

Edit: past successes put aside, amazing job by everyone on misfits. Almost wasn't sure if they could have pulled it off against envyus but they pulled though.

God seriously? I know it's nice to suck rich people's cocks but network television is a wheezy dinosaur. This is a misstep.

They did the same thing for cs, that's their way of enticing people to watch on tbs instead of watching on twitch since their tv ratings matter a lot more to them, besides it's their tournament so they can do whatever they want.

Misfits off to an incredible start!!! Hoping this will shape up to be a close series. Insane to think misfits is playing this well despite having 2 new members on the team.

No its using the timebank concept from Season 2. Tiebreaker is bo3 CP.

Seems like the "additional production value" for the TBS airing is mostly focused on general audiences rather than actual match production. Hopefully i'll be proven wrong but I was looking for a higher caliber of production from this event.

Are the colours always wrong in the payload progress bar? Just thinking for a casual viewer that's going to be confusing.

Ryb, Zebbosai and Hidan with the big win.

b4nny at home still comparing Overwatch to tf2 instead of comparing it to his day job.

Misfits reaching the finals and actually winning made this entire tournament so much more hype than it would've been otherwise- glad we had a great conclusion! Now looking forward to seeing what tournaments are next!

This is not something like NA vs EU, it's just Envy vs Mistfits. World cup with the real flag on should be called EU vs NA.

Another win for EU. This time on American soil.

EnVyUs might want to move back to EU to catch up with all the EU teams as the region is way more competitive. Misfits, Dignitas, Rogue, NiP, and WEUNITED always trading wins-loses. Stomping NA teams left and right in domestic tournaments isn't going to make nV better.

I dare say if this tournament wasn't region locked, EU would've conquered the top 4 quite easily.
