sadly, owl killing that game and talented players slowly.
they better make OWL the next NFL, NBA in E-Sport but I think it will just end like HoTs.
big hype for nothing in the END.

season2 OWL if there will be one, will probably be 100% different to season1 and the league they want it to be.
Ofc u have names like Shaq and j.lo as investors, but what investors gonna do when you can't reach over 50k constant viewers in big tournaments.

im not really into ow but from what i noticed so far everything he said is kinda the reality.
its way to early to force overwatch to become the next big esport game just the same thing they did with heroes of the storm.

Yep because OWL must be the reason Winghaven retired. It could not possibly be the fact that he has not been on a relevant team since 2016 and hasn't even been on an actual team since early this year (besides the world cup squad).

The OWL hate posts are not necessary on every topic, pay the player respects and wish them luck and move on trolls.

well its owl fault that players retire if you didn't notice what they gonna play if they are not in owl you think Blizzard will actually care about any other tournaments / league outside of the NA or OWL?
like akm said owl is a big step to make your hobby your job and without owl you have nothing left in this game.

but hey keep denying the fact that OWL rush and hype is way to early and gambled way to high from blizzard side.

i want owl to have success but i just cant see it, cuz blizzard is forcing it to be the next big esport game just like they did with HOTS.

So some players decide to actually grind more and try their best in Contenders to hopefully get a spot in OWL S2, and that goes completely unnoticed.
But the moment a player retires it's OWL fault.

As Darkcvc said, Winghaven hasn't played a pro game since Reunited , that's late 2016 for you. So if players weight in their options and figure out that it is better for them to move on to other games/become streamers/complete studies/pursue a career, wish them luck and let them move on in peace.

OWL has 12 teams, that's potentially 144 spots, realistically around 120 spots. How many pro players are there ? How many full teams have been picked up ? I'll let you figure out the approximate number of spots that are available to FAs.

Fucking OWL killing the game. Wadda joke.

Winghaven is more than good enough to be on a T2 team, but Blizzard have said so little about the T2 scene that it's not worth the risk staying in the game if you have better options.

As much as I want OWL to succeed, Blizzard really need to show support to T2 and T3 level, so orgs have a reason to have an Overwatch team. A few Contenders series a year is not enough for a thriving eSport really

Its the new generation of players coming, and only the very best of the old gods staying in the scene. I expected it to happen this way.

Why does everyone hate Owls? They are so cute, how can anyone hate them? MiniK

It's so strange to me to hear people talk about the "new generation" and how "old OW pros are retiring". The game has been out for less than 2 years. Nobody on Earth is a veteran of the game.

It's relative and not a new concept. Playing the game since before it's release is enough to label you a veteran given the amount of time it's been out.
