This 100%. While it's awesome to see displays of individual skill, like a McCree banging headshots or a Genji crushing face, when large team fights are happening I feel like you almost have to be birds eye view to properly tell what's going on in the fight. Watching one player in the middle of a team fight does not paint a clear picture of how the overall fight is turning out majority of the time. If you stay first person with a flurry of ults going off, coupled with switching POVs throughout the fight, I find it quite difficult to tell what's going on, let alone what team the player I'm watching is on. I find myself asking, "What the hell is going on?" way too often during matches, and I'd like to think I have a very good understanding of the game.

edit: There are obviously exceptions, but I just feel like in general, you can more clearly tell what is going on in a team fight when watching from birds eye view.

Love the choice in music. Sum 41 rules.

This will be great for the ease of spectating and the overall viewer experience. The game can already be difficult to watch at times because of its chaotic nature, and no hero limit just made it worse.

Super excited to see these guys raise the bar in terms of production and casting quality.

Solid player all around, knows how the game works and I think would fit well into any team environment. Definitely has a willingness to learn, get better at the game, and really wants to play at a high level. The guy also knows how to have fun too, and is a blast to just hang out with and chill in mumble. I played on a couple TF2 teams with him in my early years of playing competitively, and is an all around great guy to have on a team. Certainly worth trying out.

I was asking enigma some questions about the current meta privately, and asked me to post them here so he and others could answer them publicly, helping everyone out in the process. We can then use this as a general meta discussion as well, going over all of the current strategies and setups used in competitive play.

Here are some of the questions that I had originally asked. I will post more as I think of them, and of course I encourage everyone else to post to help get a discussion going.

1. What is the generally/most used 6 man setup? 3 dps, 2 support, reinhardt?
-How does this change on attack vs defense?

2. Which DPS heroes are most commonly used?

3. Is lucio always used, no matter the map or situation?

4. Is lucio-zenyatta the most common and or best support setup?
-If so, in which scenario would you use mercy rather than zenyatta?
-Symmetra?

5. Is reinhardt the tank primarily used/always used? Which others are seen in the current meta?

6. Do teams ever run two of the same heroes?
-If so, which ones do you most commonly see, and in what situations?

7. Do you generally wait for a good portion of your team members to have their ults before pushing, or just use them as members of your team get them to try and gain smaller advantages in team fights, attempting to get the jump on the other team before they can get their ults?

Obviously some of these things change quite frequently, but we can keep this as an ongoing discussion.

gecks#1108 looking for competent people to play with

I almost certainly remember ESL putting out a tweet a few days ago saying something along the lines of "Let the countdown begin" and a picture of the Overwatch logo, or something to that effect. It seems as though they have deleted it since then.

I would assume they'll pick it up in some form no matter what. ESL has, at the very least, Go4 Cups every Sunday for just about any game that has a pulse of a competitive scene (CrossFire, Guild Wars 2, etc). Assuming this ends up being a pretty big game I think its safe to say there would be more than just weekly tournaments.
