An ult does make it different, but Widow and Soldier ult are still stupid.

"Wallhacks make video games more skill-based", said nobody in the history of Earth. Reminder that Widow ult is still a thing

So, what are London getting in return for the two players they've transferred to other teams?

Junkrat out, Clockwork in, I guess.

I don't care if it's considered bm. Nothing makes me happier than Fuel fans being put in their place.

Shout out to the 27.7% of you (thanks for putting up that survey, CamRa) who are fans of the 3-7 Dallas Fuel and like to meme the Outlaws. You guys really make my day with your relentless use of the same 2 twitch emotes.

Due to the outcome of this game Seoul Dynasty have officially been eliminated from stage 1 playoff contention. Now there's something I didn't see coming.
Edit: I think they could technically get in if they win 4-0, Boston wins 3-2 (or 2-1), and the Valiant drop maps to Shanghai. Still, that seems unlikely.

Houston either wins 3-1 or loses 3-2. They should be better than London on Eichenwalde and Dorado, but will lose the control map(s). Anubis will be the map that decides it.

Hello yes I just wanted to officially be the first person to make this pun.
New CTF map seems fun. I'm glad blizzard has finally made a good map again after the nightmares that are Junkertown and Lunar Colony.

Valiant's pattern of winning 4-0 and then losing 4-0 will continue. EZ for Roshan.

This just in: when you have the greatest support duo in overwatch history, you should probably use them.
Edit: I guess Seoul is just bad

Anything that takes desk time away from Sideshow makes me suspicious, but Goldenboy deserves for sure, and Malik has always done a pretty good job with interviews.

Anyone know what that actually translates to?

Left tbd has (insert fan favorite old pro here). He wins these.

Crimzo playing against the people who signed him for all of 1 month should be interesting.

That play was nice, but the one I mentioned wasn't.

I'm just going to say, the casters nutting over Fleta for killing CW with a bodyshot but saying nothing about the headshot clock landed on Tobi a second earlier triggered me. They're trying to push this narrative that if only clock didn't play Houston would win, and it's stupid. Seoul has better players at every single position, even if Linkzr plays.

posted about 6 years ago

Even if he misses his shots in practice, you don't take LeBron out of the game. Jehong belongs on stage.
Edit: As a result of this match, Houston have overtaken Seoul in the standings and we have a non-KR team in the top 3 for the first time in a while.

It's either poor coaching and management or all the good Chinese players are underage. Or both.

Tftv has uberchain. We don't.

I guess you can say he played well on control alongside Surefour. He's a better Tracer than Hydration, and they can let Surefour flex around a bunch.

https://twitter.com/OutlawsOW/status/958898826546417664 Mendo has been freed, potentially. Also, I hope Linkzr gets better. You hate to see people get sick.
Edit: So I guess we'll be seeing a lot of Clockwork

Zerg is kind of a weird choice. I'm not sure I'd pick up a player who can't compete in OWL for 3+ years, but I guess they're really looking towards the future.

I know. I just really wanted to make the parallel.

Seoul has the best map record in the league at 19-5-1. Houston are at 19-6-0. Jake and the boys are for real.
Also, Jake being the grenade launcher-using, extremely confident, hated-by-europeans team leader of the best mostly NA team (that happens to feature muma and clockwork) officially makes Jake the Overwatch b4nny.

Boston Uprising beat both London and Dallas in one week. Let that sink in for a minute.

TFW Shanghai beats Philly, Philly beats NY, and NY beats Seoul

This is amazing for the Seoul players. Every team in the league should have this.

NYXL's supports are insane. Jjonak's Zen is like Jehong's Ana, and he can run it on points where every other team plays Lucio. Ark's ults are the best there is on Mercy.

Let's just hope they don't let twitch chat vote again

If we don't count the preseason, GLAD have also only lost to Koreans. If we do count preseason, they lost to VAL but beat London. I still think VAL is better, but it should be close.

posted about 6 years ago

Of all the people to steal the alias from, he chose Babybay, possibly the worst sounding alias in all of OWL?

The first mostly Korean team to lose to a western team, I think.

Pine has been unbenched. NYXL has been activated.

In every major professional sport, player fine money is donated to charity. I hope Blizzard does the same.

posted about 6 years ago

Because being a homophobic asshole is approximately 1/30th as serious as boosting players on ladder. The fact that xQc continues to be let off so easily when he is so clearly a negative influence on the integrity of the league is stupid.
Edit: 4 game suspension + a fine is definitely enough to send a message. I hope xQc learns from this experience. Sado's 30 game suspension is still inconsistent with everything else Blizzard has done, but this suspension occurring during the season on such a high-profile player demonstrates Blizzard's attitude towards player professionalism.
Edit 2: The full stage suspension by Dallas Fuel seems odd given that nothing about the situation has changed since they gave him the one-match suspension, but I guess they want to reiterate their commitment to professionalism to their sponsors. Sado still should not have been suspended for 30 games.

posted about 6 years ago

One of these teams will have a better record than Dallas Fuel at the end of the week.

posted about 6 years ago

Apologies. I should have used a better term. What I meant to say is that the team doesn't coordinate well which makes the individual decisions look impulsive. As for the tilt factor, Dallas won the initial fight on both control stages and on both offense and defense on Eichenwalde, but looked worse as the round went on. This doesn't guarantee that tilt was involved but it does point to tilt being a possible factor.

posted about 6 years ago

Humble, soft-spoken, team-first players will outperform cocky individualistic all-stars every time. That's why Korea always wins, and that's why Dallas was bound to burn out eventually. It's telling that Effect refused the chance to play for Lunatic Hai because Envy would give him more playing time. Dallas' players are neurotic and unable to play together despite their incredible talent. Dallas has players who get tilted. Houston has Coolmatt and Muma.
