OWL preseason was awesome. Great insight to see that this season will definitely not play out like everyone expects. Obviously, we should take most results with a grain of salt, but if we're basing things off the past 4 days, here are some conclusions:

Seoul Dynasty is the top team, but can most definitely be contested and beaten.

The other top teams include Dallas, Houston, LAV, and NY. The Kongdoo section of the spitfire roster is also very strong, but not the GC Busan section. SF Shock and LAG both seem to have the potential to make upsets but aren't a consistently top team.

Meanwhile, Boston, Shanghai, and Florida are at the bottom tier, in that order of best to worst.

Now, we just wait to see how Philadelphia is.
Also, all of this is completely subject to change by the time Stage 1 rolls around.

I think the only team I surprised by is SF. I thought weren't gonna have the depth they would need but Babybay really stepped it up.

Also, LAG looks stronger than I thought and I'm not surprised but what really helped them is that S4 is not just playing everything. He has a specific role for the first time since Reaver was his other DPS. Not that S4 got carried but Grego, Debett, Adam and Kyky were an amazing core and Reaver was underrated so he was able to shine because they were all so fucking good. That's how LAG looks too.

And I think Dallas is a lot stronger than they looked because they were clearly just trying out some new strats and if that is the way they are approaching this season, the other teams have no chance. They were infinitely creative and their new strats mostly worked.

I'm not surprised by Misfits either but I really want to highlight how awful they are. It's not surprising. Logix and Manneten are great players and teammates. Tviq is a good player and horrible teammate with a giant ego. The rest of the team is questionable. Cwoosh straight up doesn't even belong in OWL. There are no less than 10 tanks in the world that are better than him.

But I think Seoul, LAV, Dallas will be the top 3 with London, Houston, SF, and NYE all in the chase.

Agreed. I think Zebbosai should take a coaching position, and Cwoosh and Zuppeh are still questionable players. Neither have shown anything very special, especially Cwoosh. I've always thought he was a bad tank player.

TviQ is fantastic as always, but like you said, he's an asshole.

Logix and Manneten deserve so much better.

First and foremost, the production value was solid. Not spectacular, there were still some camera issues and the LAG/LAV mix up, but fore the most part, very good job by blizzard. If they play every game in LA why are there teams for cities? I don’t understand that. Just a weird thing about OWL.

The teams were great. Shock looked way better then expected, they should place around mid-tier, Boston and Shanghai looked better then first thought but still in the lowest tier. Mayhem is bad. I wouldn’t write London off just yet, I think they can pull it together, give it time and maybe they will succeed. Gladiators looked very strong, they could be serious contenders if they can figure everything out with their attacks. Valiant looked fantastic. Fate and Envy are finally clicking, and SoOn is making an immediate difference. Fuel was not impressive. They looked good but were not as good as they preformed just a couple months ago. Outlaws played incredible, Jake straight up carried. Very impressed with Houston, who I think everyone assumed they were going to be mid-tier. NYXL looked very strong, and they will only get better with Fl0w3r. Seoul preformed to the level that everyone expected them to. Which was, fortunately, very very high.

Very disappointed that we couldn’t see Philadelphia however. Oh well.

All in all I think this was a successful preseason, the games should be balanced, and I for one cannot wait until he regular season. We are in for a treat

Houston played very difficult opponents and came out strong, arguably could have beaten Seoul on Junkertown and Numbani. They were arguably the most impressive of the non-pre-established rosters (Like Seoul, Dallas) after LAV who were also excellent. Really excited for the first season, especially as its impossible to see a clear winner at this time!

Outlaws #1. #uptheante

In all seriousness I dont think the preseason showed anything except these teams are all REALLY good and the competition is going to be amazing for the first season. Another month of practice and scrims no telling who is going to be at the top!
