Overwatch League players are expected to uphold the highest standards of our game, and to be exemplary citizens of our player community. Participating in “account-boosting” schemes, wherein an individual is paid to increase another user’s Skill Rating, is contrary to these values, and violates the Blizzard End User License Agreement. As such, the Overwatch League has chosen to suspend Su-Min “Sado” Kim, of the Philadelphia Fusion, for the preseason and the first 30 matches of the inaugural season.

imo he shouldn't be allowed in the league at all

I mean, there's such a thing as too harsh a punishment. People can learn from their mistakes. Hopefully this will give him new opportunities to improve himself and come come back stronger than before.

I guess this is a decent compromise. Still don't know all the details of his past so I'm not at the authority to say what or what not the punishment should be.

Interesting that they're giving him what seems like lesser of a punishment than Dafran. Sounds like he even gets to coast on that min50k salary while suspended from these matches?

If we're following NFL rules (or something similar), suspended players do not get paid when they are suspended

Edit: actually most sport leagues follow this rule, not just the NFL

Have a read and see, I'm pretty neutral on this since boosting isn't as much of an issue in the west as it is in Korea, but I can understand why the KR fans are losing their shit.

Too a 2nd look at the OWL announcement and i'm not sure how I feel about this one. I initially thought the punishment was OK ish if not a bit weak but the more I think about it and the more insignificant it gets.

More than anything I'm not sure what the appropriate punishment for this offense should be considering the cultural differences between NA/EU and KR.
