Edit: I also want to say that this means we will have no returning analysts for 2020. Either they have left the league or changing roles. So this would mean we are going to see all new analysts for overwatch league. We know custa is confirmed, and while I think it’s unlikely, I want to see reinforce return and avast join.

Decent choice. Wonder though, what kind of role desk actually have during each Homestand.

Soe is the best. Adorable, funny, smart, actually talented at hosting. She is a swiss army knife for the OWL and can basically do it all. I think this is a smart move, it puts a very OW recognizable face in the drivers seat where previously they would expect puckett. Honestly, other than using a previous desk host (Malik, Goldenboy - both gone) this is the most obvious choice and will be less jarring for returning fans. Also, Soe is the best.

I dont give a shit about Puckett but Bren and Sideshow were the real face of the OWL desk. Soe was just taken for kids who hit puberty. She doesnt know shit about Overwatch. Its so obvious that everything she says is read from the teleprompter. Another nail in the OWL coffin.

She's the host, not an analyst. There's a massive difference in those two jobs. Puckett left most of the high-level OW stuff to Bren and Sideshow, so I imagine Soe will defer to Custa and Reinforce (or whoever else is on the desk) the same way.

I think there's a difference about knowing stuff about Overwatch and being passionated about Overwatch.

I think it have been proven past 2 years that majority of viewers don't give a damn about game analyzes. They are watching just for "meaningless" triple kills etc. even, if their team losses the map after that, because enemy team played smarter. For the record I would like to see some more deep analyze, but doesn't bother me too much. Most of the plays are pretty simple to figure out.

Also I believe there is some kind of demand to some kind of diversity in on-camera talent. Somewhat 20 years ago nobody really cared/noticed, if it was just 5 white guys talking about sports, but trend nowadays is to have more diverse staff in these kind of things. I just want to watch people who are having fun while talking about Overwatch - don't really care, what gender etc.-.

I don't think OWL cares about diversity in their talent teams. I think this is more that they wanted the top casters and analysts in not only overwatch but esports in general. Now that the league has hit the ground for 2 seasons they are going back to the overwatch focused people. And honestly soe was an obvious pick for this because she not only has 2 years experience being an analyst and knows how analysts like answering questions, but she's just an all around fun and likeable person

Well my point was more about that people (fans/viewers/journalists) will whine (people whine about everything nowadays) not that it's been primary target by OWL (or shouldn't be). Talent team should be people who are actually excited to be there and that's, what OWL seems to be doing for Season 3. I'm pretty happy with their choices for this season so far.

Soe was expected choice to be included in talent team and like you said she is likeable person. I wasn't trying to make a point about she being kept, because of diversity or anything like that. Was just comparing to traditional sports as there's a clear trend trying to include much more women in their broadcasts compared some years back.

Still have to wait and see, how much of the season is actually watchable with EU times though. Not expecting to see many China or NA West Homestands, if I want to sleep more than last 2 years :D
