didnt want to put it in a post but im thinking about making a post rounding up 2017 in overwatch maybe some player and team rankings (wont be based on my opinion) would you be interested?

posted about 6 years ago

so for europe its already 2017 so id like to wish you all happy new year
a lot has happened this year, on this site in overwatch and around the world (duh every year a lot happens that's just how it works)
sometimes we agree sometimes we disagree but i want you to know i value all the conversations on this site in some way

happy new year from me to you all

copenhagen games used to be a big cs go tournament back in 2015/2014 not so much now but with investments from fc copenhagen and rise of astralis north and heroic i could see it being a really good place
there are big cs go (i will talk about it coz i watch it and know about it) in kiev and london but its true that nothing comes close to popularity and size of katowice and cologne every year which are able to fill 12 000 and 15 000 seats respectively (i touche on a lot more in my comment)

its good to read before commenting

tokyo is very unlikely in my opinion as japan is not big on esport

sydney on the other hand i think is likely as we dont have any oceanic cities and this is the most likely one to get in, also during owwc qualifier sydney was easly able to fill a bigger arena than blizzards in la

little more context on copenhagen and north - north was created in january by fc copenhagen and nordisk film and they immediately bought 2nd best danish cs go roster while they failed to meet expectiations they are a very good team
with all this i think its also a likely spot and maybe even organization

paris is also an interesting one as Paris Saint-Germain football (it is fucking football muricans) team owns psg esport organization which for now is only in rocket league, their roster is one of the best in the world
but this is also a very likely spot imo and i think one of french football teams might buy it

id add cologne, specially as cs go menages to fill 15 000 seats every year and its the best place from geographical point of view, close to france poland Sweden and denmark, all the big esport countries in europe

there will probably be official post so no need to post this usually
would preferto see sideshow on the desk

posted about 6 years ago

its not about 6 players or preseason but exactly about contenders
they showed they are not able to adapt to teams learning to counter them and lost contenders

posted about 6 years ago

"saving strats" is a meme in cs go maybe overwatch will turn meme into reality?
;)

posted about 6 years ago

Obviously on purpouse so it would look like my argument is better

posted about 6 years ago

Edit: phone sent twice the comment

posted about 6 years ago

Also in house scriming is so overrated

posted about 6 years ago

biggest take away from preseason for me was that having so many players and subs made teams only weaker and inconsistent, for example i cant imagine envy losing games dallas lost during preseason

maybe teams will be able to work it out but i think its just too many players and having max 2/3 subs is the way to go

and where did you see that he is hospitalised? coz this picture doesnt look like inside hospital in my opinion
this could be a dentist visit
camra i know you always try to be the first but dont post unconfirmed information/clickbait tittles

posted about 6 years ago

for now there is no defined meta so we dont know what heroes will be needed ;)

posted about 6 years ago

partly i agree partly not
the reason for why they want to turn overwatch into traditional sport is to make more money yes but every company is in esport for profit so nothing new

many western (and specially cis organizations for example virtus pro which early this year got 40 million $ in investments) are really big right now and they will continue to grow unlike traditional sports which dont grow

i really agree with them acting very american (but id say its more like 60s/70s) and its a mistake imho, in eu and korea every tournament has huge live audience filling huge arenas in na not always

posted about 6 years ago

thx for translation

(chinese ow scene)
Q2 total bs, only more tournaments might benefit financially teams but argument with owl contenders and open is false coz this is a lot less tournaments than this and last year

Q3 "they dont know why teams are disbanding and players leaving"
just stop, total bs, outside of owl and contenders (which future was not sure for a long time) there are no tournaments, not only this but in 2017 they killed a lot of thriving tournaments (most notably amm)
and for organisations who are not in owl it just doesnt make sense to be in overwatch at all

(owl)
Q1 i like splitting revenue but im curious how will they decide how much each team gets or do they all get same amount?
dislike focusing on "local" sponsors and fans, esports great streanght is that teams have fans all around the world and this just might make it hard for fans from different regions to for example buy merchandise of their favourit team and as youll see these teams generally online (around the world) local sponsors dont gain much for being "local"

at the beginning yes he was bad but by the end he was really good, specially look at world cup
but it doesnt matter as he is listed as dps only

European players are very active and you'll find someone to stack with every day and many times we are able to have 6 stack
so if anyone wants to play with someone or just talk about something join us

if you want some info @remiska (although for some things we'll still need dark or scrub) on discord
https://discord.gg/qw2E95b - again, pug discord

players are from higher silver to Diamond

i dont think there is a starting date for contenders (march according to earlier info) but open division starts in january
where did you take these 2 dates from?

posted about 6 years ago

-nico is also an offtank with really good dva
-akm gave interview lately in which he said he doesnt really care about getting well paid what he wanta is to be in best team (fairly sure he wont join any team full time and will wait for midseason signing in owl)
-nico is a better genji than leaf and he already played with knoxxx who will most likely be calling

posted about 6 years ago

replacing genji main with hitscan main

posted about 6 years ago

danye MeteOW Meza Mon0 Nesh watio
for lazy people
i really cant wait to see danye as he impressed me during owwc

posted about 6 years ago

quality posts as always i got lazy lately when it comes to making threads

i really appreciate you making these post and am always amazed by how much you know about lower tier scene specially in eu
hang in there xmas is just around the corner

posted about 6 years ago

how is it blizzards fault that xqc acts like like child?

posted about 6 years ago

moron
deserved
i actually would like harsher punishments for pros coz they should be representing fair play and other "virtues" :P specially when someone is in owl

posted about 6 years ago

xD you seriously belive in this?
for usernot much would change its mostly beneficial for big companies

posted about 6 years ago

i think danye was very impressive as pharra and genji on team poland against non other than korea

posted about 6 years ago

yea thats wjat weve been thinking on discord
but if we would get dafran (wont happen) and danye as projectile that might be very scary duo

posted about 6 years ago

contenders for top 1 spot
here i wrote about their history (last one ;) ): https://www.over.gg/5964/maybe-something-interesting-about-envyus

posted about 6 years ago

he got fired after writting that mercy is german

posted about 6 years ago

inexcusable mistake, pls fire commanderx ;)
good catch

posted about 6 years ago

i think they are little bit overrated seeing how many people put them as clearly top 1 team in owl and london (gs busan) a lot lower but they for sure are contenders for the tittle
if anyone is interested i wrote this some time ago about lh history: https://www.over.gg/6173/kings-of-korean-overwatch-lunatic-hai
thanks to korean over.gg members i was able to finde information about their early history which is not available in english

posted about 6 years ago

many expected them to be representing china as unquestionably best team in a region instead they will all need to find new home

posted about 6 years ago

i think completed matches are low enough to not spoil anything if you dont want it

posted about 6 years ago

too many people invested too much even if it will totally fail it will still go on for few years at least

posted about 6 years ago

imho blizzard should really think about getting less people and cities from outside esport
they should go for more established esport centers like cologne katowice for example

posted about 6 years ago

good insights
i focused more on results and how team stacked up against competition than on player switches and roles and didnt want it to be so packed with info

posted about 6 years ago

yea these games mean nothing for standings
you an think about it as streamed scrims

posted about 6 years ago

it already happened once but engima fixed it and it works for me
and for everyone reporting bug, go to discord thats where mods are and write to enigma

Some time ago i wrote about misfits history in overwatch for anyone interested here is a thread:
https://www.over.gg/5987/misfits-unfulfilled-expectations

we already saw their weakness in contenders final and sadly i think they will be underwhelming at least until mid season pick ups

posted about 6 years ago

not sure about that

While the Philadelphia Fusion knew about SADO's history with boosting when they signed him, they did not know whether or not he'd have to face some kind of suspension

it seems like they didnt care about his history

posted about 6 years ago

ouch? he got away with light punishment for what he did
and what i really dont like is that he apparently didnt feel any regret and that fusion picked such player
definitely will be rooting against them

posted about 6 years ago

for now we play (well not me but rest) ranked so you could but youd play on lower ranks and rest on higher
but if you want to derank and que than sure
also there are some diamond players
just join discord if you want to maybe finde someone to que with or maybe latter play in team

posted about 6 years ago

https://twitter.com/Mert_ow probably best place to talk about overwatch
