To be fair, the argument that TF2/Quake players are going to doing better in the early days has some merit, as those games are much more similar to Overwatch than games like Dota or CS. Obviously that won't matter for long, as the transition from "TF2/Quake/Dota Player" to "Overwatch Player" solidifies.
