Pretty hyped for this match-up even though Misfits has only had a couple weeks to prepare. I wonder if the Swedes are going to try to rewrite their playbook or go with what has worked for them in the past. Either way, I'm definitely staying up to whatever godforsaken hour this event goes live.

Gotta be LH, but I see Misfits becoming the best in the west.

I'm very unsure about this new Misfits roster, it doesn't look like a world-beating team on paper but the pieces are just about there and they could come out really strong. Pity it's single elimination because both of these teams could be incredible.

Misfits are kinda going through a trial by fire here having a little over a week to prepare (judging from when the news of the trades first broke) but a couple of them have faced LH before. To me, a big question is if this Misfits roster will still have an anti-meta mentality despite their revamped roster.

Lots of pressure on Misfits to prove that the meta change isn't going to affect them like it did with Rogue. Really praying they don't come out with the standard trip tank/76 nonsense.

If Nevix really is on support - I think it will be tough for Misfits. Will they have enough firepower?

Misfits will take this one, their roster is ungodly with deep heroes pool, and Lunatic Hai have been struggling with the current meta.

on paper lunatik should take this because they should have had time to figure out the meta and misfits are a new team that may not be all too prepared, but honestly who knows what we'll see from misfits

No idea why the tournament started earlier than listed on the official schedule >:(

So far both maps had to go to bo1 Nepal tiebreaker.

Fly all the way to Korea only to be fucked by the map pool. GG.

They needed to close out at least one of the non-control point maps instead of tying both. Also, best of 1 control point tie breaker is pretty bullshit, and control point tie breaker in general is kinda bullshit too. I think they should just let them tie.

Ya its a real shame they don't play out the next maps in the series after tied maps. Bo1 Koth tiebreakers should be played only if necessary after all 5 maps.

i think LH would have won in any scenario

though all matches being decided by the same game mode seems a bit broken, especially when one of the teams is clearly just better at that game mode. it doesn't make a lot of sense to have a payload/2CP tie breaker on a koth map

Best Dps'es on tanks and supports. Wasted talent, stupid metagame. The west was strong for mechanical FPS skill. Current meta is anti-skill. It looks like a moba. If that's the intended direction - then what a waste.

?
this game has a new "best composition" every month or less. it will probably change soon though i don't get how this phase is more skill-less than the previous. the game has never been about individual mechanical skill. always team composition, coordination, synergy. at a certain level every player should be able to move and aim well, i think putting too much concern into that is a reason a lot of western teams are struggling with korean teams.
and to be fair, Lunatic-Hai had run two DPS heroes multiple times in the games, and Misfits decided to stick with 3-4 tanks permanently iirc and lost.

The game has until now always been about individual mechanical skill. It has been determined and dominated by the invididual talent of Surefour, Tviq, Taimou, SDB, Soon, Nevix and so on. And western teams didn't have any real struggle with the korean teams. Until now they won every asian tourney they participated in. And NRG and Reunited were and are still in a huge slump.

What is every player at a certain level able to do - is to coordinate and compose the team. This is not Dota where you click one unit on a two-dimensional scree. This is fps.

I guess by playing in "competitive" you have gained a deeper understanding of what upper pro level is about? Like you can probably gain unique insight into NBA playoffs by practicing in your backyard?
I guess you've never played dynamic FPS's competitively?

That was shitty and reactive of me. Sorry.

Stayed up until 3am to watch this match. Upon the opening 10 seconds of the stream I saw LH run 4 tanks, 76 and single healer Ana and Misfits run 3 tank, 76, Luci/Ana with Nevix on Ana.

Turned the stream off and went to sleep. This meta fucking blows.
